RECAP Pt. 3:

Hey Yardies! Just passing through before I head to bed and wanted to give you a quick update! Gregory and I are doing fine. Still adjusting to each other's ways/habits on a day-to-day basis. I swear we adjust to something different EVERYDAY! But I love having him here. We're making small progress here and there. We STILL haven't gotten the greencard, but they re-issued it after it came back to them that no one lived at that address (Oh yeah--how the hell did I get all of your other freakin mail? ) We should expect it early next week. His social security card arrived in the mail Christmas Eve (YAY!) and his state i.d. arrived yesterday! So we have been putting in applications and I'm trying to put together a resume for him. He will also be able to begin the orientation classes for the GED program at the Community College on Monday, and we are BOTH happy about that! He's so ready to get out the house it ain't even funny. He HATES the cold weather and I tell him that it could be MUCH worse, but he can't even fathom anything being worse than what we're experiencing! He's bundled up all the time and I try not to laugh ALL THE TIME--but he's SOOO cute and funny. We definitely have our days when we're both like "I don't wanna talk to u right now", but we get over it, talk when we're ready, and tell each other that we love each other regardless. Sooo....long story short, we've had some ups and downs, but we're learning and pushing through. I feel like things are definitely starting to look up for us though, and I just think he'll be a lot less anxious when he "feels" like he is actually doing something productive (even though I tell him how much I appreciate his help around the house all the time). I can't imagine not being without this man ever. I love him so much, and I would go through wars as long as I'm going through them with him. Everything that we have ever been through has been all worth it, and I'm only expecting bigger and better things in 2010! Good luck to all the yardies in their relationships/marriages (L)

Tamisha

Thanks for your update Mrs. P! It's nice to know others are going through very similar things & that we get through it!

It's been a harder than normal adjustment back - One of my co-workers (we also worked together at a previous job, so we have been friends for over 10 years) has cancer and has been battling for a long time now - While I was away, she started a new type of chemo. Apparently, it didn't go well, and she has been very sick since - Her lungs are filling with fluid, and she has had to have them drained (2 liters of fluid at a time, she weighs all of 90 lbs). I spoke with her yesterday, and she said she doesn't think she is coming back to work again - and that she is stopping chemo.

My heart is breaking - no matter what, it's like she can't catch a break - Within a 6 month window, she lost her mom, her ex-husband, and was diagnosed - now she is dealing with the stress of being ill and a single parent - she's from France so she has no other family here.

Please say prayers for her -

Sus, praying for your friend! Also, my sympathies to you for the loss of your other friend...prayers for all her loved ones!

(L)(F):(

Remember everything happens for a reason, so it just gave you'll more time to look at job alternatives.

As far as the adjustments, they are just the norm. It's when you are no longer having fun, that would be a cause for concern. But knowing you, the fun is only getting better.

Joel and I are loving and living life together. We will be taking a trip back home in Feb, for 2 to 3 weeks, to celebrate his B-day and our 2ndyear wedding anniversary. I am so looking forward to going to Ja, where there will be some heat, it's very cold here.

Hope you really enjoy your trip Roxcie!

ok so i just got back from my medical

needed 2 shots, total cost of the medical ended up being about 14 gran

uum, they only drew one blood sample testing for syphilis

the nurse says i need glasses :( but i'm not going back to them

Glad that went pretty easy Bunz! It's getting CLOSE now!

no sah, mi a ole fowl

A mi tuh! :rofl::rofl::rofl:

RECAP Pt. 4:

Finesse

Girl, hubby wanted to go finish the tattoop0109.gifp0112.gifp0133.gif  he got a few weeks ago. I said to him just wait and go on the weekend. He tells me

"Ya got shackles on my feet" Ya no let me go nowhere"b0405.gif

####### I dont hold him down to go anywhere he go out with his friends all 2 of them

But serious he dont have no firendsm1513.gif to even really go out with but I was so hurt b0415.gifwhen he said that.

He wanted to take my car. Hemember he only got a permit, said his friend around the corner has a license and he will be the other licensed driver. I was so hurt from his comment I let him go.

Well 15 min later Im callingt8809.gif the friend and he still wasnt there ok. its 3 minutes away so I get worriedt3602.gif

I walked for 1 hour looking for him finally he calls me and says he got a ticket and the p0121.gif told him the licensed owner had to drive the car home. So it was another 30 minute walk. I am getting my exercise and diet in so I wasnt that mad.

But when I got to him I wanted to

t31050.gif

I woulda chewed hubby's butt up & down for something like that! Don't blame you for being hotter than fish grease (as Philly would say)!

Lef mi alone with dudes neck haaaaaa you are killing me softly today, I still wan see a picha of the gold suit

What construction is going on Sus?

me too Sis mi ready to drap, went to the market on my lunch and I had so much cat food and litter I could barely push the cart  It was deh pon sale had to stock up!

Yuh see it  No more Sus please  how bout a funny piccha?

Okay, who hasn't seen my pic on FB of the guy at the Jungle in Negril w/the gold suit??....just picture Den in that same suit!

Philly you're killing me...imagining you at the store with your cart piled high with litter & kitty food......now you KNOW everyone thinks you're the crazy cat lady!:lol::luv:

50 in a 35mph :bonk:

DOH! That's a reckless ticket in CA....15 mph over....hope it's not as severe a penalty there as it is here! Here he'd probably have his permit revoked & wouldn't be allowed to drive at least a year.

LMAO Just you are too funny that is too cute. If you can believe it I have my Hubby using a crock pot now when he swore by the pressure cooker. But I had an accident and almost killed the cat when the top popped off so never again  I can send yuh some good recipes for chicken and goat in the crockpot and you will be cooking up a storm in no time. Set it and forget it you can't beat that with a bat haaaa.

You should take a piccha of your meal and post deh pon FB

Ummm.....Philly....you didn't tell us how that almost killed the cat! Did the top pop off & almost hit the kitty or what happened???

Good news yardies--THE GREENCARD ARRIVED TODAY!!! WHOOOOO HOOOOO!:dance::dance: Lawd I'm so glad that part is done with! Now who can tell me...is he supposed to be carrying it in his wallet or do we put it up?

FINALLY! Congrats Mrs. P!!

Well Yardies, our time has finally come!! I just got back from a week business trip to Michigan (cold & snowy), and have today to unpack & pack as I leave for Jamaica in the morning!!!! I'm so excited for our interview on Wednesday I can hardly think straight! Thank goodness I had the presence of mind to get all my immigration stuff together before I left for my trip last week. I'm as prepared as I can be; all original docs, packets, receipts, phone logs, pictures, financial records, pictures, police cert, we pick the med record up on Monday (exam seemed to go fine). Now I'm just struggling with what to wear!!

Well, I have a million things to do so I better run. Wishing all of us with interviews the very best. I'll post & update our timeline as soon as I can.

Sam

Hoping today's interview is a success!!

No need to get so worked up this year...that is my resolution too. I want your son to come to you with some dumb stuff now so we all can get a good laugh at it.

Im right with you Dills, I do that to about my son. He gets "hotter than fish grease" too

RECAP Pt. 5:

Morning, All.

LadyC, I have enough for a crockpot, but I haven't got it yet cause I don't have room for it in my tiny apartment.

MrsTee, Dave & Buster's is one of Steven's favorite places here too. We went there one evening for a work event. He had us go back the next day to continue playing.

Finesse, he didn't see anyone he knew on the front page. I wasn't even about to click around.

I'd love a crockpot too but like you, I have no cabinet or shelf space for one right now. I'm gonna go appliance crazy when I have my own, much larger kitchen one day. I'll have a bread maker, a juicer, a waffle maker & who knows what else!!

LOL @ not about to click around!

estaban, consuelo (is that even a name?), and francesca

:rofl::rofl: WTH??? Our minds are crazy things to come up with things like that when we dream! What's funny on a side note is that I had a BF named Este (short for Esteban) in high school!

Wait how come the Parents always disown their children with the quickness ( you are no longer my son) ! Wish I could do that, sike just kidding

I KNOW you aren't kidding!:lol: It's okay to feel that way sometimes!

God is good went to the doctor for my foot .. The doctor comes in say i have good news your healed then he says i must say i have never seen this type of break heal so quickly ..he said in my 30 years as a doc this is a first...

I said it on FB but I'll say it here.....glad the foot is healed! Just be nice to it until your wedding day.

My2: God sure is a miracle worker!

I called dos and was told that interview is Feb 12

I'm both excited and sad at the same time. Excited because it's about time and sad because I just got back an have to find money to go again.

But where there's a will there's a way and God will most definetly see me through.

CONGRATS!! More good news! :thumbs::dance:

:protest: My granny is fighting for her life. Sitting up, eyes open , trying to move her srms, and the doctors said that they have to take the ventilator off her and put in a traeche. Then they said that she is not getting better internally so we need to give her medicine and let her go in her sleep.#######

Aint that murder

Im so mad now, but ima pray because I can go off and the nurses are being rude to my family, but Im that one that they dont wanna mess wit so I tell my auntie ima stay away cuz the police will be called dealing with me.

Praying for your Granny JQ! Try to stay calm cause that will help Granny too. (L)

why? I love ackee so much when I was a child my dad made sure the back yard had more than enough trees...he also planted tons of breadfruit and neasberry trees also my favorite and tons of sugarcane and plantains...

That sounds like PARADISE! And now I'm hungry......
