Philly, I have sent an e-mail to one of my friends that lives in Port-au-Prince, he has not responded to the email yet, but if I do hear from him what area is your family members from. I can ask him if he has heard anything about the conditions for that area.

Also, My gf is from Haiti, so she and her family are trying to contact family members too. If I hear anything that maybe of assistance to you, I would gladly pass it on. I know you have your sources, but many ears can travel far.

Afternoon Yardies!

I did the catch up thing & that took a few days since I had to go back to last week. Big recap coming soon....

I'd say the hardest part of the adjustment for me is the $$ issues. You all may have gathered that I don't like spending money AT ALL (well, except for travel). I rather have money than spend it. So I'll sit at home in darkness & freezing/burning instead of turning on lights and the air conditioner/heater. Steven isn't like me, though, and turns on lights (many of them). A week ago, he asked me to turn on the heater. I suggested he put on his warm, cozy robe instead. Perhaps I took it too far on that one, since the temp had been in the 30s, feeling like the teens or 20s. But overall, he does realize that I want to save for family goals (like a house).

Also, when we have a baby is a point of disagreement. It's related to $$, though, as I feel we can't afford a child right now.

True.....but, then again, it's nice to adjust a little to living together and just the U.S. in general before adding someone else to the mix. If you can.

That's how I feel....would like at least a couple years until we have no more freedom!

I wake another day to thank God. I thank him for my pretty Jamaican wife, but I have to wait til Feb 25 for the big interview in :ingston. I had a dream lastnite that i finally learned how to drive in Jamaica. lollllllllllll, so on the interview date, i hope to drive on the left side of the road, not right. pray for us.......

The other loan Processor at my job gave in her resignation yesterday. Her last day is Next friday. So today my Manager called me in her office to tell me they are giving me a Raise and I will be the only processor(not hiring anyone else) so I will be processing all the loans. I get a bonus for every loan I process & close.

Tre I don't even look the right direction when I step off the curb...I surely won't know which side of the road to stay on. By the 3rd day there might not be a car left if I drove. LOL

I still look the wrong way even though I can drive there & fortunately hubby looks out for me & pulls me back when I do that.....habit is strong!

...My husband really ticked me off last night. I am trying to get all of the paper works in order to send off the AOS by the end of this month. He left his Birth Certificate & Vaccination Records in JA. Thank god someone came from JA on Monday so we have them but his mon forgot to send one of the shot records. She did send the one with the shhots he got at his medical. So I asked my husband? G what 2 shots did they say you needed to get? His reply: I dont know, the woman wrote it on a paper and I dont know what I did with it. Ok this is where I gat mad because things like this you need to be more aware of. Then he said to me "WHATS THE BIG DEAL" I just lost it a bit and now he thinks im being unfair. I told him this process is very stressful and the least he could do is to be involved. I do not want to be running around like a damn chicken without a head. I will give him the quiet me for a little longer. .

So will the clinic be able to tell what 2 shots he need?

You're so not alone LadyC! I think many of us have gone through this.....where we're the ones stressing over every part of the process & taking on the majority of the tasks while they can barely recount some of the smaller (yet IMPORTANT) details! Hang in there, it soon done! When you want to shake him hard, just remember the reasons why you love him!

So far so good, everyone that has talked with Den loves him! One of my closest friends and her husband have met him and they absolutely love him! My family is eager to meet him at this point. The most negative things have come from folks I don't even consider close friends! So they don't matter anyways and a lot of it honestly is just folks unhappy and can't be happy for anyone else...poe thangs!

I just wondered what the experiences have been with some of you all on here. My dad is the hardest person to please because he feels like no guy is good enough... so I know once he meets Den...its going to be an event but I know my baby gon represent cause we been holding it down for a minute now and folks that didn't believe at first, definitely believe and know now!

Same here...I have a friend at work that only after him being here with me 7 months has she finally started to chill out & stop trying to offer 'advice' based on her own past failed relationships. You just have to show them and/or ignore them & eventually they'll get it.

All Imma say is I was on the couch sort of upside down and lets just say villa 1193 will NEVER be the same! Steve told me I was destroying peoples property hahahahahhaha

Yes, this is common I think. It is menthol alcohol, right? My husband kept putting it on my feet when they were swollen from my pregnancy, and I have seen other girls due this, too. Also when my baby had a fever in Jamaica my husband pat him down with the alcohol and it actually helped to bring his fever down and helped him sleep. It is menthol, too, so it can help you like vapo rub.

I don't think it helped my feet though.

I am pretty sure just about every Jamaican household has this alcohol in it.

YES! Hubby thinks this is also the cure-all for everything & I've had him slap it on me before too. I don't know if it helped but it felt kind of cooling & nice.

I’m so mad in the front of my desk I have a ledge and everyone loves to sit there goodies on it. Umm the kitchen is two feet away why can’t you put them in there? I guess because in the front of my desk is the most traffic. Well I was about to take a cookie and as I was reaching over thoughts of my pants ripping flashed before my eyes so I pulled my hand back and now I’m using it to type you all instead.

I feel ya Dada! Same aforementioned co-worker (A.K.A. SABOTEUR!!) came in two days in a row this week with cupcakes each morning trying to pass some off to me. I politely declined 3 TIMES the first morning & gave a flat-out 'don't F w/me' NO, the next morning! Be strong mi fren....I KNOW how hard it is. But after snowboarding this weekend & even my big girl snow pants were too tight for me to move good, I decided, THIS IS IT! I've had ENOUGH! Not gonna do anything drastic & I loathe the word 'diet' but things have got to change. I need to be nicer to myself & all the good food I enjoy is not helping to make that happen. So, I'll be trying to drink more water, eat smaller portions & get a little more active. Good luck to us both!

At Steven's physical today (Where she only drew blood and will do the actual physical when he picks up the blood work), he asked me to come into the room to be with him while he had his shots. One would think I was an invisible by-stander, but NOPE. She gave me a lecture about my health. She said the key words to make Steven's ears perk: "negative effect on your babies." So now he's committed to pushing me to step it up.

I hate when that happens! I better not let Lehi hear that or he'll be same way. I love the dentist I have now but I was still a little taken aback when he told me I should lose weight during a dental exam!

OK so we just submitted the AOS payment last night and the DS-3032 by email and i wake up this morning and my $70.00(AOS FEE) was gone from my account so i call to find out if about the AOS and was told that the DS-3032 was accepted and the IV VISA Bill($400) will be sent in 24-48HRS ok now i am in shock since they told me it takes 2-4 weeks for DS-3032 to be accepted

You are so right I was like I am not letting them stress me I have a whole new outlook on this whole situation for 2010 but he did throw me for a loop with this Supermodel dream LOL.
