Can anyone tell me how their AOS interviews went at the Seattle district office? I have my interview on Aug 15th with Examiner 3. Also, how long after the interview approval did you get your green card in the mail? Do they stamp your passport at the interview for the approval? Has anyone run into a problem with the Seattle office saying they have not completed the background checks yet, even you've gone for your interview?

Any help from persons that have dealt with Seattles office would be great.

Nerves are shooting through my veins.

Both my daughter and myself went through the Seattle office for our AOS interviews, on different dates.

At the time I had my AOS interview, they were still issuing the stamp in the passports. But, when my daughter had her AOS interview in Feb. 2006, they were not issuing the stamps anymore. They said it's because the Green Card comes so quickly now. My daughter's GC arrived 12 days after her AOS interview.

It is a very unstressful, pleasant experience. The two Officers we had were very business-like and nice people. We were in and out in less than 20 minutes.

Good luck and don't stress about it too much because it's really very uneventful.

Best wishes.

By the way, just noticed that you live in Kent.... that's where we lived when I first moved to the U.S., but we moved to Orting last November. I loved Kent a lot.

Sorry that I can't write with any experience, just to say that I'm wondering the same as you! My husband and I have our interview in Seattle this Friday and we are anxious for two reasons - firstly, because we got our interview date so quickly (we feel suspicious about it!) and secondly, we are worried that our background check won't be completed yet. If it's any consolation, I will try to post our interview experience this weekend.

Thats too funny. Youre from Surrey. I'm from Coquitlam. Yes, I'm in Kent right now. So far its a really nice town. Thanks for sharing your experience. I've just been reading forums on some unlucky folks that have had to wait up to a year to get their GCs.

Oh wow, thanks so much. I was a little skeptic too, as to how fast the interviews came along. I'll look for your posting or you can just send me an email at rjnyland@msn.com

My husband and I interviewed at Seattle for my AOS with examiner 5, and she was delightful. It was very painless, quick and a real non-event!! My background check wasn't complete, so I wasn't approved, that took about another three months from the interview - but once I got my approval letter, I went back and got a stamp in my passport.

Good luck, try not to worry too much - you'll walk out thinking "that was it??"

We had our AOS last week in Seattle office and went on well. First,we were expecting the appointment to come mid-july and interview in August but it came 4 weeks after the biometric.

Our interview lasted for about 15minutes,the IO asked for three specific things among the myriad: copy and originals of JOINT FINANCIALS, copy and originals of JOINT ACTIVE HEALTH INSURANCE AND,PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP (PHOTOS ETC.). He didnt ask for anything else. He cancelled the k visa in the passport and said the GC will mailed to us in less than 14days. We got the welcome letter in two days and an email saying that the GC is coming shortly the third day. So we are waiting for the card. The IO didnt stamp in the passport. Each case is different, but you should be prepared lots.

We had our interview on July 19. We walked in and sat for 20 minutes then they called us in. It was a women, who was relaxed and professional. The interview took about 15 minutes. Then it was done and she did not say anything about being approved. She stated that the our file was at the San Francisco office and if she does not receive the file she will base the case on the interview. We provided a lot of documents showing our relationship and she said it was enough :D . She said that we will receive notification through the mail. No stamp on the passport. :(

I called the customer service line on July 24 and they stated that they are still working on the case.

It has been one week since the interview  no response.

Hopefully your case does not take this long to be approved

Best of luck

I have the same questions for the San Francisco office!

Hi, my husband and I went to interview in SF the other day. I got approved at spot. The officer just took my I-94 and issue me an I-292 letter.(It said that I have been granted conditional permanent residence in US) It took only 10-15 minutes for the whole interview. Yesterday, my portfoilo got updated that the welcome notice and the approval notice were mailed on July 25, 2006. Guys, don't worry about anything, just prepare to answer the things that you already put on your all applications. I did answer wrongly for three simple questions, because I was so nervous. My husband said he could give me a hard time, but he didn't. I got approved, because we're real, not fake. Try to prepare as much as possible. By the way, the officer didn't stamp anything on my passport, and didn't say "congratulations" to us, just informed us all the process that INS gonna do after approval and asked us "any questions?" and then I asked "Do you need to have a copy of my passport?" He said "No".(I know, it was very silly question, actually I just wanted to ask about the stamp but I couldn't think about anything better than that, because it's very fast.) We hadn't know that we're done until my husband asked "all set". Yes, that's it. Thanks everyone here for posting threads, which are very helpful for our interview, we learned a lot from you. Good Luck for your interview, Guys!!!!;)

P.S. The officer just made some copies of our wedding's and family party's pictures. We will try to post our interview experience soon. I did write it but I didn't post it because it was very incoherant so I deleted it.
