A few days before my interview last year, I bought new clothes and footwear.

When I got inside the Embassy, I was surprised upon seeing people wearing jeans and didn't even bother to put a little bit of loose powder on their face nor did they comb their hair. During the interview itself, it was another surprise to see that the CO was in a far away cubicle. Tsk, tsk, my high heels were not noticeable at all, not even anyone's engagement ring or the lack of it.

I'm sure you'll all do just fine. Stick to what your forms and documents state (give consistent answers), be ready for any possible or impossible question that may be asked, paste confidence and patience on your body, don't be late, and finally, pass the interview so you'll have more reasons to give yourself a treat.

Hakuna matata.

God bless us all.

Wow I hope to see you there. I will be staying in Miramar Hotel from 17 to 20. I really hope I can make it.

Good Luck on your interview too!

@ Arbind.Ariadne: As always thank you for staying with us in this journey. I have already planned on what clothes I will wear during the interview, kinda formal.

Ana wore business attire, had a happy-go lucky pre-screener, a CO that asked a couple questions and only wanted to see phone records and greeting cards and then said Welcome to the USA! I know not everyone is so lucky. A lot of it depends on who you get as far as pre-screener and CO

Just relax and be attentive to the CO. I'm sure the questions are just around your papers on whatever information you put there. K1 is very easy :)

Hazel, and I went through this on the 4th of January. Do not kill yourself over preparing. Have copies of all the documents submitted already, and those asked for in the letter. If your fiancée is there at-least for us a delivery would have been as quick if not quicker. Not sure of the reason. Just seems to be the way it is.

Last but not least. If minimum requirements are met, and have all the paperwork asked for with fees paid. You will have your visa. There is 0 reason for concern with the Manila Embassy with denials.

First thing I did when I woke up in the morning was pray and i read some inspiring lines from the Bible too. I sat on my throne for almost an hour trying to do my everyday thing co'z I don't wanna feel like doing it @ the embassy, especially when I get so nervous LOL. It helps to make you feel comfortable during that day. ;) Well I am sure you won't feel hungry co'z you'll be all worried about the interview but at least fill your stomach before going to the embassy co'z you won't know how long it could take. Be in business attire...don't overdo it though co'z people might think you are the CO lol jk. It is good to bring a blazer or something just in case you'll end up like me shaking while waiting outside the CO's room not because I am too nervous but because the a/c was just too much for me LOL. When you are already facing the consul just think that you are just talking to a friend who is interested to know about your relationship with your husband/fiance...that way you will be more relax when answering the questions. You'll be fine as long as you have every papers/proofs you'll need at the interview and you know your fiance well.

I wish you all the best :) Go girl! ;)

I had my interview last January 4, 2010 at 7am. Make a lil effort in dressing up but don't overdo it. I saw people there wearing jeans and shirt, well, nothing wrong with that but give an effort to make you look presentable and nice.

Don't forget to bring with you your documents, the DS forms accomplish in 2 copies, DS-156 form with photo paste on it, fiance's proof of income and your photo's together. Just relax and be confident in answering their questions.

Don't bring with you any electronic device, like cellphone. Foods and liquids are not allowed inside the US Embassy, they sell food and water inside though.

Good luck!!!

God bless and be safe always.

That is so exciting. Last year, I had my interview on a Tuesday, too, and I flew from Cebu to Manila at 11 a.m. on a Monday.

Keep us updated, Guardians.
