do they have the same answer?

the same number that i can find on my NOA2 and VISA?

on the Visa, it's located under "Annotation", under the Sponsor's name

It starts with A followed by numbers

Well, aside from the A-number being seen on the NOA2 and on the visa, the IO also wrote it at the back of my I-94 and I assume all other IOs do that, too.

Oh that's probably why! The IO who examined my docs didn't write my A-number at the back of my I-94 ^__^;;

PLEASE DISREGARD MY PREVIOUS MESSAGE! I was thinking about the G-325A for the I-129F petition not the AOS.

The File Number is the same as the Alien Registration # once you're in the Adjustment of Status stage

(I checked the copies of the G-325A that we made before sending out our AOS packet and I did fill it in that way too. LOL. (got me a bit worried there - I'm so glad we made copies or else I would've been agonizing over this during the whole process! *whew)
