Good luck ! I will be starting the IR-2 process for my 6 yr old step son next week. How long do you think it will take to get him ? ingat

it depends on the timeline but so far.. if i didnt had trouble with my legal guardian ( my mom) to get sophies passport in summation..its approximately 6 months =)..goodluck

Congratulations to all...Good Luck!!!

Wish my daughter was getting her's to on February. I sent the I-130 for my daughter on 10/09. I really want to get the visa approve before her school ends in Philippines so she can get adjusted to the culture here and maybe sign her up for English tutor before school starts here. :( *sigh* Oh well, it will all end well... :)

Document Verification is totally slashed out from the entire process. However, don't forget to pay the VISA APPLICATION FEE of 131$ at any BDO branches. You can bring a copy of your DS157, one that has already been filled out and encoded and show it to the teller. The teller will then notarize the form with the BDO seal and will provide a receipt (USEM will get the white copy while you can keep the blue one).

I wanted to stress this out because during my interview, two couples weren't allowed to have their interview because of this particular issue. Considering the tedious process they have been through as well as paying an attorney's fee of 1,000$, we really couldn't expect that such issue will still arise.

My interview, that was originally scheduled for December 14 of last year but postponed due to a sputum test (which I passed), has been rescheduled for February 3.
