Timeline

I have been checking the timeline processing dates and today I-130 is at Sept 20. Has anyone managed to correllate the processing dates with their own touches/approvals? Is it within a week/2 weeks of the timeline processing dates shown on VJ that anyone's received an approval? Is this false hope? Am I asking too many Q's.

Our NOA1 date is Sept 18 but nada so far. No updates at all since the initial touches.

Does this mean that these cases have finally gone to an adjudicator ... bloody hell.

OUR JOURNEY SO FAR: (dd/mm/yyyy)

18/09/09 - CR1 NOA1

16/07/10 - POE LAX (256 days NOA1 to interview)

27/09/10 - Aussie/American bun in the oven due May 10, 2011

06/01/11 - Submitted change of address online to USCIS. Mailed I-865 for sponsor. Neverending!

05/05/11 - Bouncing baby boy arrives

10/07/12 - Sent I-751

13/07/12 - I-751 NOA1

I would give it another week or two to hopefully receive your NOA2, then I'd contact the USCIS for a status. Last time I checked they were taking between 5 and 6 months to approve I-130 applications.

Good luck!

I have noticed that it takes them about a week to change the status online. I am betting mine was approved on the 5th of january on that touch, but they didnt send a notice until 11 jan. Kinda like when I had my RFE. It was dated 25 nov....but they didnt send a notice out until 1 dec. The online updates seem hit or miss. I didnt have any updates even though I had an RFE sent out...my last update was 24 november until I called the USCIS on 15 december...then magically they updated my online status.

Thanks, Scott. I read your topic this morning and thought what about me?? Anyway, we thought about requesting an expedite but we've been waiting so long already seems pointless now. Shoulda done it at the start - oh well, alls good in hindsight!

Well from what i have been told by another member here...it is good to expedite because they said the NVC only sent out the bill for the visa and her husband sent the AOS and all supporting stuff for that to her. The AOS was given to the embassy. I would still call to expedite if you are able. IF you can almost bypass the NVC, that would be just that much faster. I am still waiting to see what the NOA2 says. I will try to call the NVC before the end of the week though just to see and possibly give them our email addresses so it would be that much quicker.

He's in the middle of Nowhere, Missouri at the moment doing training stuff ... when he gets back we'll chat about it. A January approval would have been great birthday presents for both of us!

Good luck with the NVC stuff!! I was all over this in the beginning. Preparing all the forms, gathering info etc ... now I figure I'll wait for the approval because it really was messing with my head and didn't want it to mess with my marriage so I've mellowed (a bit).

You have to remember that what VJ says is only based on people who update their timelines on VJ and that we only account for MAYBE 10% of all visa applicants.

Thanks, Mal. Hence my original Q - to see if there is any connection between the timeline predictions, processing to date and anyone receiving their NOA2.

Thanks, Mal. Hence my original Q - to see if there is any connection between the timeline predictions, processing to date and anyone receiving their NOA2.

Don't even pay attention to those dates. There was no connection in our case! NOA1 was 8/19, NOA2 was 9/25, and visa was in hubby's hand on 12/14. Less than four months altogether, so the timeline predictions are screwy!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

We just got NOA1 approval on Jan 7th and it's off to California. We just started and thinking about how long some people have been waiting is disappointing, but I'm remaining positive and sending out that energy to the universe lol. I'm hoping for a maximum 6 or 7 months process and I remain optimistic but do find myself checking the status of the case all the time and it's only been 11 days hahaha. The nasty backlog is the issue and that really sucks - hoping they can address that in a timely manner for all our sakes; most of us our newly weds !!!
