Hello I am about to send in my forms for adjustment of status. I was wondering if I could pay by personal check? Or does it have to be a money order? Do i write on check for all forms or should I put a seperate check for each document ( affidavid of support, travel document, I485, I 786 work auth etc..?) I appreciate any info you can send me.

Thanks

JP

You can pay by check, no problem. Personally I wrote a seperate check for each form. As others on this forum have stated in other threads, the reason for doing is if USCIS rejects one form, they only send back that one and the check, not all of them.

You can use personal checks, and that is actually recommended so you can easily determine when the checks are cashed. You should write one check for the I-485 and biometrics, then separate ones for EAD and Advanced Parole.

I wrote one check for all the applications i sent, AOS, EAD and AP, and I was fine.

Just double or triple check that you have the correct amount, and write a summary of the fees in your cover letter.

Your timeline suggests otherwise: June 23th: RFE AOS "unsufficient funds"

no, i meant unsufficient funds re: the affidavit of support.

I'll change my timeline as to not confuse people anymore. Thanks!

Yeah, sorry about that. I saw you mention it in another thread and tried to edit/delete my post, but it wouldn't allow me to.
