Unable to obtain police records

We got a little bit of bad news yesterday. My fiance's k1 interview is set for Thursday, and due to a new law in place in Guatemala, they are not giving police records to ANYONE until a new process is implemented later this week, after the interview. Does anyone know if it is possible to do the interview without the report and send it afterwards? There is very little info to go on for Guatemala, and the Embassy is extremely difficult to reach, so no luck yet contacting them.

They obviously won't issue the visa until the police certificate has been submitted. You may be able to send it at a later date but this will delay your case significantly.

However, that will be up to he CO at the time of the interview (I'm not sure how difficult your consulate is). I hope it all works out for you, I'm sorry for this bit of bad new

I just ran across this while looking at the Guatemala forum - I'm glad to see you were able to work out a 2nd interview and your man comes tomorrow! Congrats :dance:

03.15.17 - scheduled for an interview on 04.21.17, had to write a letter asking for a reschedule because we will be out of the country

03.31.17 - scheduled for an interview again

05.09.17 - Interview!
