Poll: Obama Health Care Marks Hit New Low

President Obama's approval rating on handling health care is at an all-time low, according to a new CBS News poll, something that is helping to drag down his overall approval rating.

Just 36 percent of Americans approve of Mr. Obama's handling of health care, according to the poll, conducted from Jan. 6 – 10. Fifty-four percent disapprove. In December of last year, 42 percent of Americans approved of the president’s handling of health care, and 47 percent approved in October.

Intrade predicts it's unlikely to happen by March 2010 or even June 2010.

The March contract is trading at 4 and June at 2. I guess the market believes that

if it doesn't happen soon, it won't happen at all.

And that's the big problem. Congress once again sold the people out to the well funded interest groups and that is why so many people, myself included, are less than thrilled with a health care reform package that, while it will make it to the president's desk, doesn't exactly deserve to be called "reform".

Say it isn't so!!!!!!! An act of congress that isn't about what it says it is???? An act of congress that doesn't do what it says it will do??? Health care reform that isn't about reform...or health care??? Really?

No, I just want Medicare to be made universal - it's much more efficient and consumer friendly than any private health insurance in this country will ever be. Those numbers are on the table, in plain view for everyone to see. However, my doc is going to take care of my actual health care needs. I'm not looking to go to a government office for that.
