Hi there everyone! I just found this site, and having looked around, it seems that you guys could help answer many of my questions, or at least direct me to the answers!

I am (currently) a UK citizen, born and raised here. I am looking to marry my US partner, with the aim of marriage by the end of the year.

My main questions are, simply, what is the likelyhood of:

- The whole process being completed by the end of the year

- My application actually being approved.

I'll try to provide as much info as possible, but if I can give anything more, just ask. Also, if I'm barking up the wrong tree here, please don't hesitate to tell me where I should go to find the relevant info.

Myself

- Born and raised UK citizen, lived here all my life. Mid 20's, Caucasian

- Education up to A levels

- No medical issues other than Asthma

- Been working mostly minimum wage jobs the last few years

- In contact with family

- Minimal savings

- Have visited US several times in the last few years to see partner (never rejected)

Her

- Born and raised US citizen, lived in Ohio and Texas. Mid 20's, Caucasian

- Education up to College level

- No known medical issues

- Currently working as Middle School Teacher, approx $40k per annum

- In contact with family

- Reasonable savings

- Has visited the UK twice in the last few years to see me (never rejected)

Relationship

- Have been 'together' for 4 years (in the relationship)

- Have known each other for 5

- Have photos from trips

- Have limited e-mails covering the span

- Most contact through Skype

Any more required information can probably be provided.

Thanks in advance for the advide/info!

Took 8 months for my K-1 to go through.

Married in 9 months (from K-1 start)

AOS in 12 months (from K-1 start)

As long as you meet the reqs (looks like you do - as long as the "last few years" visit = previous 2 years from date of I-129F submission.)

To Start:

:guides:

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

If you are filing your K-1 application soon, the odds of being married by the end of the year are pretty good. But nothing happens until you file.

You might want to get that going since fees are going up.

FILL OUT YOUR TIME LINE WHEN YOU FILE!

You will find that VJ will calculate when you can expect completion. Also reviewing the U.S. embassy for your country helps in the planning.

London is one of the faster embassies, in paperwork and assigning interviews. If you're looking to start the process soon, you have a very good chance of getting the K-1 by the end of the year. and as it looks from you're information, you shouldn't have a problem doing so. As someone already said, just so one of you're visits was within the last 2 years, you meet all the requirements.

Best of luck to the both of you!
