I just got off the phone with the NVC and they sent it to Manilla yesterday!!!! finally here she comes home!!!!

Congrats.. right at 1 month.. they are still at the same timeframe as before...

It gets into the - teens and twenties here. Rice Lake, WI is the coldest in the continental U.S. Windchills are commonly -40 or lower in Madison this time of year (not always, but sometimes). She either can tolerate it or she can't. If she really hated it that much I'll have to relocate, even though I have a pretty good job. Better to find out sooner than later. I told her she has to go through one full winter before she can play that card, though.

What happens next fall? She stays in Phils for 7 months a year when it's winter in Alaska?

She will have to stay with me. It is only one winter and then i will change stations in Sept 2011. We are looking to probably go back to korea. The only way she gets to go back to the PI is if I deploy to get some tax free bonus. I dont see another deployment coming up though. Yeah cold with windchill is no joke..but we have that cold with no windchill!! Last winter we saw 3 weeks straight of -30F or colder and i think our lowest temp was -56F....no windchill.

Mhay is in Baliuag Bulacan. I am hoping that everything goes fast enough to get the same days. I am still a little foggy on how the package will go being expedited and all. If we basically bypass the NVC, that would be good, but I need to see what the NOA2 says. If it says anything different than the normal response. We already have the DS-230 filled out. I just need to fill out the I-864....I think i will be able to do the EZ form. I just ordered my tax transcripts lastnyt...so hopefully they will be in alaska in about 10-14 days.

Yeah i just talked to my wife earlier and she asked if i could just buy her a round trip ticket so she can go back to the PI for the winter... I told her that she needed to see one winter there...we will move after next winter. Besides i told her that if she left for the winter in alaska (6-7 months) they might deny her entry back in....I know she was kidding about going back to the PI for winter...the only way that she will get to go back is if I deploy again.....and that is next to no chance right now.
