Hey everyone,

Just wanna say I'm happy to hear about all the good news thats happened in the past few days. My husband is checking in a 5 hours with the military to see if they will dismiss him or take him for 2 years...Please, pray for my husband and me...the only way we can start our visa journey is if he is dismissed and it is a 50/50 chance..we are so worried about being apart for so long with no way to contact each other ...computer is not allowed...We appreciate any prayers sent our way and I also wana say I'm happy to hear the good news lately..I will keep you guys also in my prayers...thanks a lot

10-11-06 - Inquiry sent through USCIS to add middle name

10-15-06 - touched

10-24-06 - Biometrics Appt.

12-14-06 - Interview - "Approved" Pending FBI Check

01-10-07 - EAD touched

01-13-07 - EAD approved per CRIS email

inshaAllah they'll let him go. If (and when) they do, make sure that he gets a stamp and signature in his passport that says he's exempt from military service. If he doesn't have that, they may stop him as he's trying to leave the country.

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!

3/24/11 Received 10 year Green Card in the mail - Done. Feels good :-) 'till we do this again for US Citizenship.

12/5/11 mailed packet for Naturalization

12/9/11 was received by USCIS.

4/6/12 received letter for fingerprint appn.

4/23/12 9am fingerprint appointment - done :-)

4/30/12 Recieved Letter for Interview - Sche. 5/31

5/31/12 Interview & Testing

5/31/12 Testing Approved - Waiting for next step

6/21/12 Rcvd email, placed application in the oath sched. que :-)

6/25/12 Rcvd letter - Oath Ceremony is on 7/11/12 @ 9:15am :-)

Same thing happened to us ...

Our visa journey took 2 years and 2 months ... but we were together for a year beforehand because he hadn't finished his 2 years mandatory service.

So total time apart ? 3 years and 2 months.

As soon as Ali finished his tech school he went to the military and got it over with.

Good luck ... hoping you dont have to be apart as long as we were :no:

NOA #1 - March 23rd, 2004

Interview- May 18th, 2006 (Success !)

Arrived in the US - May 27, 2006 (our IR-1 visa journey was 2 years and 2 months long)

Wedding - June 17th, 2006

It's a Girl ! Baby Hana's expected due date - March 30th, 2007

I thought Mandatory service was 1 year.
