getting an earlier interview date -- mumbai

Hi

my husband will (hopefully!) be getting his interview date for the mumbai consulate within the next couple of weeks...

i have a feeling that the date *mightt* be for march... i was hoping for february!

who can you call/email at the mumbai embassy to move to an earlier date?? do we need a good reason to convince them??

(i have read that a lot of people have done this)... please help out a fellow CR-1-er!

I dont think you can really do anything just to get an "earlier "interview" as there may be people ahead of you who may have been waiting for one longer than you have... I don't think they will put you ahead of others just because you want it speeded up, unless maybe if it is very important and urgent, then there really is no reason for them to give you priority.

I had to wait over a month for an interview, which isnt so bad since other people have waited over 3 months for theirs! I believe when the embassy arranges an interview date for people, the dates they give depends on how many other cases are actually in front of yours.

I cant tell you to be patient because I was not patient at all! But I really had to sit back and occupy myself with other stuff and it helped!

i didn't mean push other people back and bring me to the front of the line...

the NVC is scheduling my husbands interview date... they might not be aware of openings that the consulate may have...

never heard of other people's interview dates being pushed to a later date... i would never want to do that for anyone...

i just mean if they can squeeze another person in on a certain earlier date...

i have read other people doing that so just wondering...

I waited for 4.5 hours in the embassy before i got my interview and there really was only approximately 12 people for the k-1 visa i was on *note* I was one of the first people there 5th in line....... but I was called in almost last X_X!! Other people with the higher ticket numbers got called in before me If they have room, (maybe just maybe)they can squeeze you in? but what if there are other couples wanting to be squeezed in too? I am wondering now if it is possible to squeeze people into time slots! Because that wait I had was wayyy too long, maybe they invited too many people in for an interview on the day i went!

It might be possible, im not sure. But it wont be easy unless it is really important. The interview day will come very soon, before you know it, and once you walk away from the embassy being approved it will be one of the greatest feelings in the world!
