The word in Iraq is that Saddam had ample time to move what he had out of the country prior to us arriving!

We are the only civilization on Earth that broadcasts its invasion plans on the airwaves months prior to the actual invasion.

Exactly, I could never understand this either! Bush tried going thru all that U.N. B.S. and gave Saddam lots of time to do what ever he wanted. They had the stuff and were able to make it, Unless the gassing of the Kurds was bogus! The pics i saw of the kurds laying dead, women, children! Made me sick! That by it self was enough for me to take out this Madman!

Indeed. But perhaps you should have been more outraged when Saddam was doing it just after the end of hostilities at the end of the Gulf War. The kurds, thinking that GB senior was going to topple Saddam started a rebellion, which Saddam ruthlessly squashed while allied troops sat around and watched. Perhaps you should also be angry that most of the chemical agents that Saddam used in the 1982 genocide and during the Iran-Iraq war were actually sold to him by the US.

If these tapes exist, and are genuine - I've no doubt that it will form part of the narrative justifying Iraq as part of the war on terror. That said, the lack of any real physical evidence of WMD, which has still not been uncovered 2-3 years after the invasion is a real problem.

As I see it, there is no smoking WMD gun that justifies this invasion.

Put in context, I'm sure there's similar footage or comments (recorded or not) of Saddam dancing a jig after 9/11. Doesn't mean he had anything to do with it however.

I think people also forget that Saddam suppressed fundamentalist islam in his own country. His regime was a sort of totalitarian-socialism - based on Saddam's apparent admiration of Josef Stalin.

One of the reasons we supported him during the 1980's was not because he was pseudo-communist but because he actively (and brutally) suppressed Islamic Fundamentalism. Because of that, Saddam didn't have a lot of friends in the middle-east. Bin Laden was hardly an ally of his - they had significant philosophical and political differences.
