you will need to wait until you have a green card (or EAD) and then go to the Social security office and apply. You had until 15 days before your I-94 expired to apply for a SSN (without a green card or EAD), you missed that window so you will now need to wait.

we applied for AOS last september, and we receive a letter for biometrics, its done last november. then we receive another letter stating that they need another papers. we got it figured out and...they got, now we are waiting for whats next. which i dont know. We file both EAD and AOS the same time. when will be the interview? im not done with my vaccination yet, dont know about it too.

anyway, thanks for your info. it really helps me.

The EAD is normally issued around 90 days. Your RFE request for another papers will delay the 90 day timeline. Have you considered making an infopass and requesting an interim EAD? You can also check on the status of your AOS at the same time.

I took Claudeth after she was here for two weeks and she got the card a week later. When we tried to change the name on the card they said we had to wait for something from the USCIS like the EAD or green card. Because you didn't apply right after arriving you will need to wait for one of these two documents.

Welcome to America and good luck with the rest of your journey
