Somehow at 23 weeks my belly has gotten noticeably bigger. I lost over 15 pounds first trimester and have yet to gain any of it back so I don't know how everything is expanding. It's weird.

I gained way too much. By the end because of pre-eclampsia it was almost 3-5 lbs a week and I was about 200lbs (started at 140.) I felt like a whale and had a 9lbs 4oz baby.

What I did wrong? Ate out all the time and didn't exercise because of where we lived. I could barely eat 1/2 a sandwich at the end so I know most of it was water weight.

If you're too full after you eat, eat less. It's okay. :) Graze on healthy snacks during the day and make sure to exercise.

ya i was overweight to begin with. i'm supposed to be like 120 max since i'm only 5'4 but when i found out i was pregnant at 8 weeks they said i was 142 wow.gif . Now i'm 158 or was last Saturday. Considering i was so sick the first couple months im surprised i only lost 2lbs during that. I 100% blame my husband for this, he keeps telling me to eat, and we also had alot of fast food once i was able to eat. But i need to buckle down, i don't want to have a 12lb baby! lol that is pretty much what my husband was when he was born. OUCH!

I had my 2 hour glucose test yesterday morning. The last time I ate was around 10pm or so the day before and my appointment was at 8:30am. They took my bood and then gave me the drink. I didn't get to chose the flavour of drink. They gave me fruit punch. At first I thought it didn't taste too bad but the after taste was awful.

I went to sit down and after awhile I started feeling a little light-headed but it wasn't too bad. They took my blood two more times on the hour. I did feel a little queasy but that wasn't bad either.

We grabbed a sandwich after and I felt ok. I did have a little bit of the runs later in the evening though..

I was really worried after reading all the stories online but my experience was ok better then I was expecting.

I really dread going over recommended weight. I'm always hungry, which doesn't help, and I've upped my fitness routine to combat sleepiness. Part of me really wants to duck out of swimming today.

I am still waiting for the results of my glucose test from last week. I am hoping no news is good news. I asked the nurse today and she said if the results are not in yet they should be by tomorrow. But she didn't know if they were or not.

Marilyn, hope your glucose test results are okay.

Ontarkie, hope you get a bfp in a couple weeks.

SAw my ob yesterday. It was underwhelming. Nurse did a urine dipstick to test for protein and sugar, took my weight (hadn't gained any weight even though I eat all the time), then the dr found the babies heart beats - 150 for baby A and 144 for baby B. Scheduled gender ultrasound for Friday July 26. Looking forward to finding out the genders.

so I passed my glucose. YAY! My doctor said I wasn't even close.. :D

everything else was great too. I have only gained about 6 pounds but the doctor said it was ok.. He said I should aim for about 15 pounds or so.. He said the baby is growing fine and they get the nutrients they need mo matter what..

It's been an interesting month. Guess I am now 6 months pregnant. That sounds more pregnant than I feel to be honest hehe. People out and about are commenting on it now and asking how I'm doing with the heat (on the West Coast with the heat wave - I'm doing okay although warmer than normal). I have been having some problems with the rest of my health - I have rheumatoid arthritis and it has been flaring a lot lately. Last week for about 3 days I couldn't use first one shoulder and then the other, and couldn't take anything helpful for pain. My husband just changed jobs - better pay, but they gypped us on benefits. We found out on July 1 his first day of work that coverage doesn't start until August 1 since it's the 'first full month' - which made me panic since I had a rheumatologist and ob/gyn appointment this week and no health coverage. We called his previous employer who told us we could go on Cobra for the month but apparently the paperwork to get on that can take a few weeks. He told us just to use the old health card in the meantime and it takes awhile for them to bill it so by that time the Cobra stuff should be filled out.

Well I didn't want to, but I needed my blood glucose test (did that yesterday- had lemon lime flavour which wasn't too bad but felt sickly after-no results till Friday). Also needed to see my rheumatologist pronto and she told me the meds i was taking weren't safe for pregnancy, which is the opposite of what the previous rheumatologist with the other insurance told me AGHHHH so I stopped those right away.

Well to be honest, the one guy said "no proof of problems so you can take it" and she said "no proof there aren't problems so don't take it" - either way it makes me nervous. Now she wants me on a different drug that can cause birth defects if taken in the first trimester but only if I pass the blood glucose test.

The worst part of all of this is that I have this insurance thing looming over me.

Oh and in the middle of all of this?

We're house-shopping and waiting on a response to an offer....

I think the stress is driving me bananas.

At least the baby is still having fun kicking me throughout the day!

VeeNDee, when it rains, it pours, eh? :) You have lots of changes on your plate (new house, new job, new insurance, rheumatoid 'excitement'). All of it will work out. Take each day a step at a time, and try to relax when and where you can. Managing the uncertainty and the stress is a challenge for anyone, even before you add everything together.

I too did the house shopping thing over May and we just closed last week. The stress will fade immediately once you have certainty. Better now than when you are 8 months pregnant like a good friend of mine did! The uncertainty of waiting is sometimes the hardest thing for me to manage. I hope things smooth out for you!
