That is all that I recall - my due date is October 14, 2013... which also happens to be Canadian Thanksgiving. A date my husband and I both found very ironic :) But that no one down here seems to get :P

Welcome Autumnal!!!

I think most of us are due within a few weeks of each other.

My husband's birthday is September 19th so it would be kind of cool if she was born on the same day.

my SIL's SIL had a baby boy Christmas day last year. I know she probably has stuff, like swings etc that she doesn't use anymore but I don't know if it is proper to ask for it. I do know her. We see them all the time at holidays and parties etc.. So it isn't like they are strangers.. Maybe I should get my SIL to ask.

Welcome Autumnal! It is always nice to have some people who have gone through the similar experiences together. Congrats on your GC. I am assuming you have applied for citizenship since you are waiting for your oath ceremony.

I think I will get some hand me downs from my sister if I have girls. I find it humorous that I tell people I am having twins and that I am just 9 weeks and they ask if I know the genders. Nope, still a bit too early to know that. I am looking forward to knowing when Aug comes.

So i had my 16 week prenatal yesterday it was pretty quick since i opted out of all the downe syndrome testing etc. I heard the baby's heart beat for the first time..OMG it was AMAZING! So fast too! Baby kept moving around so she kept having to readjust the little wand lol.

Up until now i knew i was pregnant but i didn't really KNOW, or feel ya know? i mean i was sick etc, but now after hearing the heartbeat I've finally realized I AM pregnant! luv.gif And I GAINED WEIGHT!! Only 6 lbs but i gained!! :) So we went out to Chilli's and had dinner. I ate like a pig LOL and i ate meat meat and more meat!!!! I had veggies too :P I almost forgot what meat tasted like laughing.gif

Its been super hot here the last few days in Chicago and for some reason i cannot get cool enough. Have the house set to 70F but i was still dying last night. And today looks to be another heat wave. I want to go get a new swim suit so we can go over to my SIL's, but i have no idea how much bigger i'm going to get and i don't know if they make suits THAT stretchy lol. Finding any maternity stuff lately is either non existent in some stores, so i go looking at the big girl sections. I'm thinking since Target has suits on sale for like 17$ i can just get two, one that is a lil bit bigger now, and one later that is alot bigger. I'm opting for the ones that have a top that kind of has a skirt bottom attached which will cover the tummy. BTW is it ok if the belly get sun exposure while preggers?

Luckily I have 3 boxes of clothes my MIL dropped off, some new some gently used that should last me for a bit so i don't have to buy much more.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! heart.gif

That heart beat is pretty amazing isn't it. I could not wait to go to the doctors and hear that heart beat. I never got to hear it with the older kids, my doctor back then used an old stethoscope with a special end, I did get to hear it a bit that way but its nothing like the way the doplers let you hear it.

Glad you're feeling better. The heat was hard on me too, I'm normally freezing all the time. As for sun and swimsuits I got a bikini and showed off my belly the sun won't hurt the baby and Vit D is good for you just don't get burnt it won't be fun. Tankini's would work too if you want more coverage.

It seems that 3D is not covered by the health insurance.

Those I assume are not covered by healthcare. I got a brochure with the following prices for 3D:

30 mins ultrasound session
Optional gender assessment
Visualizing baby's heartbeat
Keepsake folder (DVD, CD with images, 2 4x6 printed photos)
Optional web hosting for two months
$199 CAD

20 mins ultrasound session
Optional gender assessment
Visualizing baby's heartbeat
Keepsake folder (CD with images, 2 4x6 printed photos)
Optional web hosting for two months
$179 CAD

10 mins ultrasound session
Visualizing baby's heartbeat
1 4x6 printed photo
$99

Yikes, that's very expensive! I haven't decided whether I should do 3D or do the old fashion one.

Visited my folks in Canada this weekend and we stocked up on Canada food for craving moments.

Got some all-dressed Ruffles chips, Scotch peppermints (the hard ones with the chewy inside), some vegetable thins crackers (I have discovered I can eat those no matter how sick I am feeling and they taste good to boot!), some Rogers Golden Syrup, and last but not least, Coffee crisp. Now I know we are supposed to be careful with caffeine but a chocolate bar every few days can't be that bad. Man do I love those things. Our stash will hopefully last till the next visit :) It was funny crossing the border when the guard asked what we were bringing back. My husband said just some chips crackers and other groceries and he made him list off all the food items. Just to make sure there weren't fruits, veggies or meat I am sure, but I have to wonder what he thought of the random food selection :P

Thank you! So many friendly welcomes, it makes a girl blush. Yes, I have done the naturalization process. I applied in January and finished my interview on the 15th. My midterm sonogram was the next day, and I think I was more worried about that than facing down an immigration officer. The little one has been steadily kicking away and making itself known for the past few weeks. It was good to know Bebe's lying face down and poking me in the side!
