I am finally starting to feel better. Now I only feel sick after I eat, which really sucks. I try to put off eating as much as possible, but I know I need to eat for Slim (Someone Living Inside Mommy...our little nickname!!!) It doesn't matter if I eat small or larger portions, and no matter what I eat I still get that queasy feeling. I am 11 weeks now so hopefully it should be getting better soon!!!!!

'Slim' will be fine and get all the nutrients she/he needs even if it seems like you're not keeping much down. You're approaching the 2nd trimester when energy hopefully picks up and you feel human again.

Ant - I hear what you're saying about not using formula. There's no failing on your part and sometimes the baby just makes that decision for you. Hope I didn't offend you :(

Colleens-Glad that you are feeling somewhat better..:) Don't worry, it will get better in the second and third trimesters...To the opposite point where you want to eat anything and everything..lol....

I love the cute nickname for SLIM too!....(((Ant waves hi to baby SLIM...."hi"!...)))))

Reminds me of the nickname that I used to call my baby when I was preganant...lol....

I throw up every single morning, and I tend to feel queasy until about noon. I cannot stomach beef at all, so pretty much all I eat is fruits and veggies. :B Oh and I eat cookies...xD

Bern-Hope you feel better soon too...

Fruit and veggies are healthy...So it's good that your stomach can handle that...

Food adversions are normal too, so it's ok that you would want to avoid beef too...

Cookies are ok once in awhile, in moderation of course....

Ant - I hear what you're saying about not using formula. There's no failing on your part and sometimes the baby just makes that decision for you. Hope I didn't offend you :(

Udella&Wiz-No offence taken..;)

Lol...Well..I've done it for as long as I could without formula..So I don't think I failed on that part...

I did 6 months nursing exclsively, and another 3 months of pumping the milk out....So that's 9 months of breastmilk....

Not bad...lol...

And not once did my baby ever get sick during all those months..(and hopefully not later on either)..

So surely there must have been some benefit to all that breastmilk....

Lol..I don't blame my baby for growing teeth earlier, and for me running out of milk earlier...Sigh...Things happen for a reason, I suppose...It's nature's way of saying..."Time to move on..."

On that note, I see it as....Baby A is growing up...and needs other foods in his diet......

Now if only I can figure out what to do between months 10 onwards....(I'm still not convinced about the forumla thing...sigh...)

So far he likes cheese and yogurt and is tolerating that pretty well...We'll see about introducing more dairy foods...And perhaps he can get to cow's milk soon....(I'll have to talk to the doctor about that again....)

Another Update on Baby A- He has 6 teeth already, and he's less than a year old! Yikes! More teeth to come...Ouch!

Everyone- All that talk earlier about naming your babies makes me ask...

What did you nicknames/names did you give your baby while you were pregnant? Why did you choose that name?

What name are you going to/already gave your baby? Why did you choose that name?

Happy baby naming and pregnancies everyone!

My husband hates every name I've picked out so far. D< I might just name it something Greek like all of my animals have been.

Aries is my German Shepherd, Apollo was my cat, Athena was my fish. 0.o

And I eat about 2-3 cookies like every 2-3 days, T_T; hopefully that's okay.

I baked some chocolate chip cookies the other night for hubby, so I have been sneaking one or two of them! I am having avresions to anything that contains BBQ sauce. I used to LOVE BBQ sauce, now even seeing a bottle of it, or a commercial on tv with food dipped or covered in it makes my stomach turn like crazy!!

We have a girls name picked out....Emma, no middle name yet (I like Grace, but hubby think it sounds too "redneck" like bobby sue or billy jo...lol) When one of my nieces was about 3, she told me that if I ever had a girl that she thought that I should name her Emma, and ever since that day I have loved the name. Hubby ac tually hopes it is a girl because he likes the name so much!!! Since I came up with the girl name, it is his job to make a list of boys names that he likes so we can decide.

At first we decided that we were not going to find out the sex, but once hubby saw the baby on the first ultra-sound he very quickly changed his tune!! Also my family are coming out in July for the wedding and are looking forward to spoiling the baby, so we sort of want to find out so that they can buy the things they want.

***Baby Bumping*** the thread again.....

Any new baby news/updates?

As for Baby A.....he's growing and starting to learn how to walk...

I can't believe that he'll be 1 year old soon in July!

Lol...it only seemed like yesterday that I was still pregnant with him and complaining about getting my 10yr green card....

(btw..the baby won.......it took 9 months with him....10 months with the USCIS....lol...)..And now I have US Citizenship and he's almost 1yr old....

Time flies by, quickly, indeed!

Also, he just outgew (and threw up all over...yuck..) his infant carrier last week....:(

Now I have to shop for a new carseat....Any ideas?

I've been looking online....And boy am I confused....lol.....convertables, boosters, so many to choose from! Oh boy...

Btw...

Bern-What an interesting idea to use greek-insipired "A" names.....Hmm...Hope you and your husband can decide on such...

Colleens- Emma (and Grace) are good names that you and your husband came up with for a girl!....What about boy names too?

Happy pregnancies and babies everyone! Keep up the updates....

14 weeks down, 26 more to go. I had my first appointment about a week ago and it turns out I'd lost 20 pounds since I got pregnant so they gave me a pill which helps my food go all the way to my stomach (apparently the tube connecting your esophagus and stomach has a harder time opening when youre pregnant, so what happens is whatever doesn't pass ferments in your esophagus and you throw it back up...) But anyway, the pill is not a sure thing, it works sometimes, then it doesnt other times...:/ Im just hoping it goes away completely soon.

As for names, we have a girls name picked out, Evelyn. :]

Boys name, no idea. I love Alexander but my husband isn't for the name. ;_;

I'm breathless and easily tired nowadays (I'm going into my 32nd week!). Feels like I'm carrying a bowling ball in my tummy, which presses against down on my bladder (the toilet's my BFF lately) and up against my stomach (yuck, acid reflux and burping).

Bern, I hear you on the food aversion--it was one of the worst pregnancy symptoms during my first trimester cuz I love food.

I'm almost done my baby shopping! One of the steepest learning curve I had to go through wading into the world of baby products. And expensive too! By the time we're done, we will have spent $3500!

That's exactly why I love it, it's not a very popular name but it's still a pretty normal one in the same breath. :)

I am so glad that I am finally feeling better, still a bit tired, but I am not sure if that is from just not really having a set schedule and being lazy some days...lol We are holding off on buying anything until we find out the sex. I am hoping I can do that at my next appt (17 weeks) since my family will be here for the wedding. They are pretty anxious to buy some stuff for the baby, which we are very grateful for since money is tight without me working. We have a girls name picked out, but still working on a boys name.

Has anyone had a 3D ultrasound done? I saw one being done on a tv show, and it was pretty cool to see all the detail. I know that you have to pay extra for it so I was just wondering if you found it was worth the cost.

I have no idea but I've seen a 3D ultrasound and then saw the baby when it popped out...looked exactly the same, it was crazy. I won't have it done simply because the army won't do it because it's still being tested apparently.

(Also, my nurse said when travelling the full body scanner will not harm you. She said you'd have to have about 200 x-rays back to back in order for something to go amiss. 0.o)

Hi! So nice to see all the updates! Our #2 is due in a month, but I bet he will be out in two weeks. Belly button still hasn't popped out, hehe. Our nanny has started and wow, what a difference she makes! Chasing after a toddler when you're in your last trimester has been the toughest job I've had so that's why I haven't been checking this forum much.

I hope everyone is enjoying their pregnancy (or as much as you can, what with the sickness, acid reflux, etc.!). I want the baby to come out NOW but I also kind of want this moment to last forever, just him in my belly, protected from the world. =)

I just passed my 17 week mark and have decided to start buying some maternity clothing. All of my regular clothes still fit, but because I am starting to show a bit, the waist always gets pushed down and I feel like my shorts/pants are falling off my butt!! I bought a couple pair of shorts and some t-shirts last week, and now that my mom and sister are here, they took me shopping for some more. The only part I am hating is that I feel like a tank when I wear them. I am a bit disappointed in myself that in the past year I let myself gain some weight. I was all set and on track when I got back from Canada and my interview in April to drop that weight to get ready for our formal wedding this weekend, but instead of losing it I have become "rounder". I am feeling a bit down because of it. I know that it is natural and healthy to gain some weight during pregnancy, but I am struggling with coming to terms with it. When I turn to hubby to try to get a little moral boost, I get more of the "you're pregnant...what did you expect" sort of thing. Did any of you have troubles coming to terms with the weight gain/body changes? What did you do to help get your mind past it?

On a more positive note.....we have our next appt today and we are going to try to see if we can find out the sex of the baby. I don't think they usually do it until 20 weeks, but since my family is here and anxious to shop (they brought us some cool maple leaf/canadian outfits already!!!) it would make it much easier to find out then have to try to find all unisex stuff!!
