ValA-

Urgh. Turns out that the baby does not like pistachios. I wish he/she had informed me of this BEFORE I ate inhaled a whole bag.

Lol....That's ok...Now you know...No more pistachios for you or baby now! :)

Lol..If it makes you feel any better, when I was pregnant, it was the same thing with apple and orange juice too....

Babies pick and choose, I suppose......

Do you think he/she will be OK with Swedish Meatballs for supper?

What do people call their bumps? He, she, it? I know some get offended at 'it', but that would work for me.

Lol....It is up to the baby to decide....Hope she likes sweedish meatballs for your sake too...:)

Hmm...I called it "it" at first....But after the 3-D ultrasound.....

I called him "puff"....and to this day, I still call my son "puff"....since he has those oh so puffy cheeks!...

(see the previous photo that I uploaded here on vj..you'll know what i mean...)

Oh by the way, one more thing about the ultrasound...It give a more "human" feeling to what is growing inside of you....(definitely better than "it"..lol..)

Sigh..Why can;t they make more better looking gender-neutral baby items?

Good idea for a home-based business!

Um, this is gender-neutral, isn't it?

That's exactly why I put my CR-1 process on hold....didn't want to pay 10K just to deliver the baby in the US (and potenitally waaaaay more $$$ if there are any complications)! Way too big of a gamble for me/us. It took my sis-in-law years to pay off her debt from having a baby.

Dang! Hubby and I are waiting for an interview as our NVC case completed on Jan 7--now I'm thinking I should delay the CR-1 until my baby is born. How do you get the NVC to put the CR-1 on hold?

I feel soooo blessed to be able to have my baby in Canada (love my doctor and hospital, and not having to worry about insurance, deductables, etc), but a little guilty that I plan to immigrate to another country sometime soon after! But I worked and "paid into it" for at least 15 years. ;)

I have no guilt at all. I paid into EI and health premiums eversince I started working at the youngest legal age.

What does everyone think about finding out the sex of the baby beforehand? I am leaning towards no...but I can see how things would be easier if I knew before I started shopping for everything. And I am thinking I should be trying to simplify my life! B)

I'm a planner personally and by profession--I want to know the sex the baby asap!

Urgh. Turns out that the baby does not like pistachios. I wish he/she had informed me of this BEFORE I ate inhaled a whole bag.

LOL! Did you puke?

So far, I'm OK. But I'm getting that "bitter tongue" you were talking about earlier. :-(

What do people call their bumps? He, she, it? I know some get offended at 'it', but that would work for me.

I called it "Little bean" last week. This week it's "Kumquat" (or whatever size fruit/food item the baby is supposed to be), LOL.

Anyhoo, hubby and I went shopping at Target for baby shower gifts for a girlfriend ready to pop in two weeks. We passed by baby strollers, cribs, bassinets, etc...and got so lost. Hubby's going to start researching brand and quality of baby stuff we will need. Moi, I'm just stressed by how much we would have to spend.

Yeah, it's going to be expensive. Sigh. SIL had a baby just over a year ago, so hopefully can get some hand me downs there. My sisters are all older than me, so they don't have any baby stuff left to give me. I expect them to be generous with the prezzies, though!

And no, I did not puke! I love that I am not getting morning sickness, and that's the first food the parasite (my pet name for the baby heeheehee) hasn't liked.

I finally have called a dr to set up an appointment, just waiting for the callback. I wonder how much this is going to cost me? Ah well, I have to see one, I am way past time for that.

Babies aren't expensive, it's the parents that are expensive :hehe:

HA. I just got off the phone with the dr's office. Not expensive? HOLY #######. For the first visit:

$52 - $228 office visit

$30 preg test

$300 ultrasound (may be done at this visit)

$800-$1000 additional lab tests (if necessary)

And if I was in Mississauga right now, I could just run across the street to my dr, have the appt, get scheduled for the ultrasound, have all my blood etc taken for the lab tests, all for nada. But I don't dare go home until I see a dr to make sure travelling is safe, due to certain complications I am having.

I'm going to go have a nap and try to get over the shock of this.

I called the baby "parasite" last week and it drew gasps and disapproval from Hubby and my two brothers, so I dropped the term.

Oh, I haven't used it in front of hubby yet. I'm sure it will slip out at some point! Although, we were having a discussion last week, and he made a snide comment about me not working. I looked him in the eye in total shock, and said "I am GROWING ANOTHER HUMAN BEING. What the hell are you doing that tops that?" Heeheehee I won the discussion. He couldn't continue he was laughing so hard.

I am going to have to start knocking over banks. Sigh. Hang on, does that constitute earning income and thus disallowed under B2 rules? Argh. Loopholes.

What in hell does a $600 stroller look like? It had better be self-propelled.

If you rob banks often enough for it to become a profession, lol--at least in Canada it would be.

re: $600 stroller looks like a stroller on steroids! Geez, I can't believe the cost of some of those things. I'm going to start looking through e-bay or craiglist.
