ValeriaA...

You just gave me hope! I'm 39 and would like to get pregnant so, hearing someone my age taking the plunge too makes me a little excited. It's a little hard though when we're apart from our spouses.

I always felt that even if the timing was 'right' I'd get so nervous and excited about everything that I popped my egg out early!

Yeah... I'm a duffus...

Doesn't matter when your egg comes out, as long as there is sperm there...just saying. Don't limit yourself to sex during ovulation, what fun would that be?

Heeheehee. Seriously, I am a little freaked by it. My Mom has been telling me since I was in my late 20's to basically not have kids (wasn't married any longer, then age added to that and the increased risks...) but I figure hey, it really isn't uncommon anymore. I am in decent shape, obviously my body was ready to be pregnant, and this is way easier than I ever thought it would be (getting pregnant, and the only pregnancy symptom I've really had lately is the sore breasts). No morning sickness yay!

And I'm hoping by the time I have this baby I will be in Texas permanently. I can only hope.

This is true and duhhhh... who would limit sex to just ovulation???

;)

Well, guess we'll see what the cards hold for us -- I just think it'd be super cool. I have never wanted them until now and I never felt emotionally, financially or ready in any way, shape or form. It's sort of not fair that we have a limited time offer on the whole deal... some of us take longer getting around to things than others...

I felt EXACTLY the same way. Until I had that miscarriage, I wasn't overly into having kids, which meant I never would have. Now, even though this is a few months earlier than I would have liked (who wants to be pregnant in Houston in the summer, for God's sake?) I am so happy.

 Nevada

For what it is worth, my Mom had me when she was 36 and my younger Sister like 14 months later - this was before there was media discussion on it being harder to get pregnant in your 30s and 40s - like most things - people just did it :hehe:

ok, got to go, i'm going over to that other baby thread to recruit

No morning sickness yay!

Lucky you! I'm still nauseous but eating regularly to keep it at bay. And I hate pickles...they always give me pickles with my sandwiches. Blech! Where did the pregnant women craving pickles come from?

Ooooooh, girl! That's gonna be rough - you'll be living in the AC. When I found out I was pregnant in August, it was such a surprise, but I was GRATEFUL!!! I thought, Thank God, I won't be pregnant in a Florida Summer. That would have about killed me. :dead:

Do any of you have a "bitter tongue?"

I think in my case, that's part of the reason for my cravings of things are especially sour or hot or flavorful. My tongue just tastes bitter all the darn time. I chew gum, but once I stop chewing the gum, the taste comes back. It's such a disgusting feeling.

And acid reflux city.

Ew.

“Meet Mikey Hicks,” said Najlah Feanny Hicks, introducing her 8-year-old son, a New Jersey Cub Scout and frequent traveler who has seldom boarded a plane without a hassle because he shares the name of a suspicious person.

Michael Winston Hicks’s mother initially sensed trouble when he was a baby and she could not get a seat for him on their flight to Florida at an airport kiosk; airline officials explained that his name “was on the list,” she recalled.

The first time he was patted down, at Newark Liberty International Airport, Mikey was 2. He cried.

I just read this on the news. So a two-year old gets patted down at security but a Nigerian whose name was on a No-Fly list, with a one-way ticket to Detroit, no luggage, no winter coat and explosives sewn on his undies gets on? SMH

That could explain my need for sweets lately.

Haha. I have a friend who thought she was going through early menopause at age 44. Wrong. lol

The only time I knew my Mom went through menopause is when she dropped off an armful of tampons and sanitary napkins and announced, "I don't need these anymore!"

I would have loved to have been married for at least a year before starting a family. But my husband stared at me too long when I was trying on shoes for him the week before our wedding that we had our baby 8.5 months after we got married.

This May we will have been married for 24 months. I will have been pregnant for 15 of those months.

Nothing has worked out as planned, but somehow everything still manages to fall in place.

Good thing we didn't wait till we were "ready" to have kids, either. We're no spring chickens! With this parenting thing, I just learn as I go along.

Yeah it's probably true, I shouldn't have kids if I don't want them.

Well, I might want them in a few years. Who knows.

I do want to experience pregnancy and stuff, and my fiance is so good with kids... he treats his nephew like he's his son it's so cute.

I think money problems are making me think they way I am. I hope it changes eventually. He keeps saying I'd be a good mom.
