Three Aboriginal teenage boys were circumcised during a manhood ritual without anesthetic and left mutilated.

The Aboriginal boys turned up at a hospital in the Australia's Northern Territory on December 30.

They stood outside with blood pouring down their legs, too embarrassed to go inside, fearing they would encounter a female nurse or doctor, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The boys, who had just been through a circumcision ceremony, received no anesthetic, and were left mutilated by elders. It's suspected the elders were drinking when they performed the initiation ritual.

The Northern Territory Health Department confirmed the boys had presented with severe lacerations but refused to give their ages. It is understood the boys were 16 or under, which should have prompted the hospital to report the incident to police.
