sometimes I just amazed at ppl here. Cant even put together 16,000 a year to bring someone here and need co-sponsers, etc. If my kids ever presented me with such a proposition, I would just laugh. If you bring em here, you support them.

Why would anyone want to come here and live in poverty....16,000????? That wouldnt get you a trailer in Arkansas eating corn every day.

Wow. Harsh. I don't qualify because I've been living in Brazil for the past year making pretty much an average middle-class salary, aka less than 16k a year. I have only been working here for three months. Yes, I make more than 16k.

Why shouldn't I ask my dad to sponsor? It's not like I'm not going to actually have the money to support him, I just don't meet the government's standards to prove I can do so. Not to mention my fiance's earning potential is a lot greater than mine.

And congratulations to you making 16k/year in college. Must have been hard work. (not sarcastic)
