I read somewhere that it take 1 week for the police cert from Thailand. My fiencee called and they told her 3 weeks on the phone, when she went in there today they told her 2 weeks. She explained that she needed it sooner and was told to call the officer in 3 days on his cell. She says that she thinks that he wants money to speed it up, I have no problem with this I lived in Thailand and know how it works but does anyone know how much we should pay for this type of services? Also the police man told her she needed a document from the embassy that said why she needs a police cert. I told her to take in the Packet 3 docs and that the cover letter should work but after he had her read it to him (he dont read english) he said this is not what they need but he took it anyway along with her email that says when her interview is and said call him. I think he did this just so it sounds like he is doing more work under the table. Does anyone have experence with this? I dont mind paying off the police but I dont want to over pay them then they will get gready and ask for more from the next guy!

The NOA2 certificate* was what they wanted to see at the police office.

If you got the hard copy of the packet3 letter that may also do.

When we did the police we didn't have packet3 yet but we got that

on my last day in Thailand, after we had already done the medical & police.

*They don't want to see forms you filled out, they want to see something

directly from USCIS or the consulate that says a visa petition is in the works.

As for "baksheesh" (sanook money) I don't know how much is customary;

we got ours in around 2 weeks without that.

In Jamaica, the cost was double (but still not much) for expedited service (3 days, instead of 3 weeks). I guess the officer wanted to adopt a similar process, even if unofficially. :lol:

It's supposed to be FREE but knowing Thailand, they extort money from you whenever they can.

Yea it is free but they told her it will take about 3 weeks and we dont have that kind of time. So I hope we can pay a little and speed it along, we have a interview date of Jan 21.
