I called the USCIS last week and asked them about the processing times, and when I should recieve the NOA2... They told me that it takes 5 months to get the approval or NOA2.. is this correct? I thought that it was 5 months to go through the whole process.. <just shows how naieve I am> But if it took 5 months to get a NOA2.. then the case is sent to VSC and then that is where it moves more quickly.. I am thinking 2-3 months after the NOA2... Is my thinking correct? PLZ PLZ correct me if I am wrong <fingers crossed hoping I am>

This is for a CR-1 or K-3 visa for a spouse

SO, in an ideal situation with no hold ups, no RFE's or anything would the normal wait time before your spouse would be in the US be around 8-9 months from the first NOA1?

theoretically possible... but many things can influence the speed (or lack thereof) even after the approved petition makes it to NVC and or the Consulate

YMMV
