Is it more difficult to get a multi-entry visa than single visa?

In july 2008, i was issued a 12 month multiple-entry L visa with a 90 day stay.

I've heard that any visa you've been issued before can be gotten again (assuming you are still eligible for it). Can any one confirm this?

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

thanks for this informative post! she lives in SF so she decides to get her affidavit in SF consulate.

I was referring to a US Consulate in China, not a Chinese Consulate in the USA. There is a way to obtain the ultimate affidavit through the Chinese Consulate in SF but the steps leading up to actuall going to the Consulate are quite time consuming. That's why I suggested she use an agency. Obtaining the visa directly wouldn't be an issue if she lives in SF.
