Is it more difficult to get a multi-entry visa than single visa?

My gf is applying for the Chinese visa. for the same price of &130, a multi-entry visa seems a better deal than the single one. but I am wondering if they will look deeper in to multi-entry applicant or they have more strict standard for her. anybody shed some light?

Also there is a section that says "Major Purpose of Visit to China" and it has a series of things to check off. Should we check "other" and put "marriage to Chinese citizen' in there or leave it off and just check off "tourism"? cuz earlier, i am advised to "tell the truth without volunteering extra information". i dunno if that's too much info.

Thanks in advance!!!

If your girlfriend has never had a visa for visiting China it is highly unlikely that she will receive a multi-entry visa, she will be eligible for a single entry visa with no problems. Check this website out, I have used them twice and had very good service! The site will explain the requirements and types of visa she can apply for. www.visarite.com . You and her need to decide where she is going to stay when she arrives there also, she will have to have contact information in China to submit with the visa application. I always used the hotel where I stay, if she uses your address or you as a contact she could be asked to supply a written invitation from you for her visit. Staying at a hotel does not require a letter of invitation and the hotel will also automaticly register her arrival with the local police. Good luck

This company can also assist with the Affidavit of Marital Status, which she will need to marry you in China!!!!

If you are, infact, getting married then put "getting married and leaving post-marriage to file for CR-1/K3."

Since you have the prior intent to get married, you should declare that. She should not overstay her visa (assuming it is given) and then you can file a I-130 for your spouse as soon as you're married. She will attend the interview in China and wait out the rest of the processing time there.

she can apply for a multi-entry visa, no problems -

just say on the form, somewhere - going to china to marry fiance, then travel much back and forth over the next 12 months. That'll at least be a 1 year, multi-entry, 30 day duration (for each trip). If she gets hung up in PRC, have her go to HKG on Day 30, stay a day or two, and return back to PRC - get the next 30 day duration, no additional paperwork or fees required.

When (later ) she has her red marriage book, she can show that at the embassy/consulate, get a 2 year L visa with 120 day durations. But she has to come in, first, on whatever the first L visa is / will be.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

thanks guys.

sorry but i forgot to mention: she is not planning to stay with me here in China. Does that change any of your opinions?

Thanks again!

Even if she is not going to stay, the cost for multi-entry is the same price as single. That is what I did, not sure if I would return a second trip, but I did and then I didn't have to worry about paying again. No reason not to get the multi-entry.

There was a time, when it was a problem, a bit before and during, then a bit after, the Olympics. At the time, it SEEMED that the China Visa Officers were only granting SINGLE 30 day duration visas. But, about 3 months after the Olympics ended, the internal policy changed up a bit, apparently, more and more multi-entry visas granted again.

I have no hard data - nothing for charts and graphs, no official word from a CHINESE CONSULAR OFFICIAL- I only have what I've read on other portals (these are specific to Chinese/American Couples ).

I would expect no problem with the multiple entry visa and she can request a 60 day stay. Last time I requested 90 days and they gave me only 60.

If you are planning a marriage on this visit, then I would recommend she get her affidavit of single status and L visa through www.visarite.com unless she will be within convenient distance from a US Consulate in China. The easy way is the Certificate of Marriageability from a Consulate in China but if that's inconvenient, go with visarite. If she just needs the L visa, I recommend www.visa-chinese.com in Houston because they are less expensive and just as reliable.

I applied for and received a multi-entry visa with no issues back in February of 2009. (Speaking of which, I need to get it renewed!)

I used Visa Express for mine. Presumably, all those places are about the same. I don't know how it compares pricewise to others. If you live in a city with a Chinese consulate, you can go apply yourself and save yourself the added fee.

I have been able to get a multi-entry visa for the past 3 years without any problems at all, in fact I just received my latest one last week - I was issued a 24 Month Multi-Entry 90 Day Stay visa (you can get a 24 month instead of the usual 12 month visa if you are married to a Chinese National). I use www.mychinavisa.com out of Houston and have always received my visa in about 7 days using their regular non-expedited service.
