CFO before NOA2

My fiance is thinking of traveling with a friend to get her CFO in the next week or so, the problem is we haven't received our NOA2 yet.

Will she encounter any problems trying to get it too early?

no, she can only get a certificate and not the sticker tho

ahh that leads me to my next question, if she goes after the NOA2 she gets the sticker then?

we are trying to avoid multiple trips....

She can not get the sticker until she gets the visa from the USEM

not good idea to take so early in CFO.no she cant get the sticker that day if she dont have the visa.so better to save money let her go to CFO if she have her visa on her hands already so she can get her sticker in that day too.

No the NOA2 is not the visa.Its the approval of notice from USCIS.She still need to have interview at USEM MANILA before she can have a visa...

so there's no way to get out of making a second trip for the sticker, jeez what a PITA...

If you have read the guides, they state that you will receive the NOA2 after the NOA1. The NOA2 denotes that your petition is approved. From the USCIS, your petition goes to the NVC then the NVC will forward it to the U.S. Embassy. Once the case reaches the Embassy, your fiancee will then apply for the visa. There are basicaly two approvals-- for the petition and for the visa (interview). Your fiancee may attend the CFO in Manila when she has time before or after the medical exam or before or after the interview. For example, if her interview is in the morning, that could mean she'd be done before noon (as it was in my experience and of my friends'). The afternoon may be for the CFO.

I hope you'll have a speedy process. Read the K1 Flowchart in this site if you feel lazy about reading the rest of the guides. It will help ease your confusion and surprise.

And oh... I forgot to add that people here are right. Your fiancee will need her visa in order to get the CFO sticker.

OK, got it figured out! She can stay with her Aunt in Manila, and she can stay for a couple weeks if she needs to, so she will take the CFO, and Medical before the interview, then take the interview, and see if she can pick up her visa and get the CFO sticker before returning home.
