I was wondering, after you enter the US on a K-1 Visa then get married, Would I be able to fly to Hawaii with my Fiance (who is the US Citizen) for our honeymoon? Im not sure if this is the right place to post this question!! Is there anything that I should know before hand before doing that? Like Problems that other people have faced once they are granted entry with the K-1 visa, but fly again to another state and back, will I have problems getting back into the states?

Thank you :)

The only problem you might have is if the flight goes technical and diverts and lands outside the US. The odds of that must be pretty remote.

Have a great time and enjoy the island(s). No restrictions on your travel to and from here. Contrary to popular belief, its a great time to snag a deal on hotels and flights to Hawaii. The recession has hit us hard, so hotels are the cheapest they will ever be and upgrades to better suites once you arrive are abundant. Excursions are also cheaper than ever. :star:

Hawaii, especial Maui, is a dream destination for wedding and honeymoon. Even my daughter and her husband flew in from Europe to get married there. You can't do much better.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

thanks for the replies! I guess the only problem I have now is to figure out which island to go to! :)

If you're adventurous and want to get off the beaten path to a lava flow, nothing beats the Big Island.

If you're looking for romance, try Kauai or Maui.

If you like the night life and a great beach, go to Honolulu.

My vote is Maui (be sure to take a day and go to the road to Hana)... Or Kuai (the Na'Paali coast is AMAZING)... The Big Island has a nice variety..

As far as affordable, check into VRBO where people rent out their condo's... Craiglist has some rentals too.. You can get a beautiful condo on the beach with a kitchenette (to cook some meals and save some $$$) for less than a hotel sometimes!!!

Thank you very much for everyones advice :P I havent been on a computer for a few days! I like hilton hawaiian Village..... Lots to doo..... water sports! I want to get married there too actually, I cant have a big wedding in the USA because all my friends and family just cant afford to just leave their jobs and suddenly fly to the states! So I want a wedding just for me and him, I've heard many couples have tiny weddings on the beach there, would be perfect for our situation (We will have a real big wedding once I can return to the UK)

Hope it doesnt cost us too much! Dont think a newly wed would want to be broke :P

Be careful about getting married in Hawaii - I am guessing the 6 weeks it took for us to get our marriage certificate from Hawaii is more than it takes in most states. We got married on December 6th, 2009 and just got our certificate a few days ago. Their "regular" timing is 3 to 4 months. If you request certified copies they say 4 to 6 weeks, and there is no possibility to rush it beyond that. Although the guy at the marriage license office claimed we would get it in about 2 weeks when we applied, adding to the frustration. We called them repeatedly after the 4 week mark and they couldn't even tell us if they had received our marriage license yet. Just that they had "boxes and boxes" of them and were back-logged.

Other than that, the simple ceremony on the beach with just the 2 of us was very nice :-)

^ things are oh so slow here in the islands, depressingly so. And add in 2 days a month of furloughs for state employees, I'm not surprised that the office is really really behind. That is such a long time to wait for a piece of paper for sure.

I'll second that. While filing the ROC, I was trying to remember why we took so long to file the AOS and everything after we got married and now I remember. It took 12 weeks to get the blasted certified copy of the marriage certificate.

I called after 6 weeks and they didn't even have a record of it. We had to track down the "Kahuna" who performed the ceremony and call back to the state dept of records with all the information. Seems like the same thing, they were backlogged because there are just so many marriages in Hawaii.
