N-400 Citizenship

Hello,

I have a question about Part 6 (A) and (B) ,

Where have you lived during last five years?

Where have you worked during last five years?

But me I'm applying for Citizenship based on 3 years married and living with same US Citizen Spouse.

I have only 3 years here in U.S.A., I don't know if i have to list my address when i was in my home country and same to work history??

I listed the last 5 years addresses (including my Canadian address).

Hi Angela and Hicham,

For the addresses/residences and employment/work section...I listed the five years (including my Canadian address and history)....

No harm in doing such there....

But for the travel section, I crossed out five and wrote "three-applying based on marriage" and listed three years only....

Reason being, that I haven't been in the USA for 5 years..And to count time outside of the USA since then doesn't make sense, since I wasn't here in the first place for 5 years to begin with....and if I would have listed the days outside of the country for 5 years..then counting those days, from a literal level, I would have listed too many days out of the country and would been ineligible for citizenship (which is not true)...Do you get what I'm saying here?

Needless to say, I had no problems during my immigration interview regarding that....

Seriously though, I think the USCIS needs to re-do their forms again....this three years/ five years thing....

Way too confusing....

Can't they understand that some people apply based on three years, while some others apply on five years?

Simplier for them to just put..."how many years since your permanent residency status"...

Sigh....
