Hi there,

with just over a week to go until my interview, I'm now starting to panic about what additional physical documentation I will need to present at the interview.

My USC wife will be accompanying me.

I have everything listed on the US Embassy website:

# Birth Certificate

Original and copy of mine and my USC wife's long form birth certificate

# Adoption Certificate

n/a

# Passports

will have mine and my wife's passports with us, plus a copy of the photo page on each of them.

# Marriage Certificates

original and copy of our UK marriage certificate

# Termination of Prior Marriages

my wife's notarised divorce certificate, and a copy of it.

# Military Records

n/a

# Affidavit of Support

I-864 (and copy) for my wife showing earnings of $0 (no current job whilst in the UK and no guaranteed job to go back to in the US).

It also shows my projected US salary (I will be working for my current employer after moving the US - I have a letter (and copy) from my employer confirming this - including projected annual salary).

I have the last 6months of my UK pay statements (and copies).

I also have copies of my Wife's 1040 and W-2 for 2006, 2007, 2008 which shows her US earning for those years - and for 2008 also shows her foreign earned income since moving to the UK.

2009 taxes have not yet been filed.

Also, I-864 and I-864a (plus copies) from my USC wifes parents. (Joint sponsors)

We also have copies of both their long form birth certificates and photo ID pages from their passports.

My wife's mother does not work, and files jointly with her husband (my wifes father).

So, for my wifes USC parents we have W-2s and 1040's for the last 3 years, along with the last 6months of her fathers pay stubs.

# Police Certificates

n/a

# Police Certificates for the United Kingdom

original and copy

# Court and Prison Records

n/a

# Court and Prison Records for the United Kingdom

n/a

# Photographs

3xColour passport photographs to US State Dept specifications

So... I'm fairly confident we cover the minimum requirements as listed above.

We also have:

a letter from my wifes parents supporting our decision to move to the US, offering us accommodation if necessary, and confirming they are looking for a house for us... they also confirm they are happy to be sponsors for the I-864.

A letter from our current landlady in London confirming that we have notified her of our intention to leave the UK. She has also provided character references for us.

Quotes from various shipping companies regarding shipping all of our possessions to the US.

A letter from my parents confirming their support for us moving to the US.

A letter from my UK employer saying that they will be continuing to use my services in the US. I will be setting up a US LLC and then billing them each month. They also quote my estimated annual gross salary in the US.

Can anyone think of anything else I need to take with me? Do I need proof of marriage/continued relationship? any other proofs?

Please respond quickly if you have any thoughts as I want to try and get everything sorted completely in plenty of time before the interview!!

Thanks

Tony

You may not be asked for it, but I would bring some proof of bonafide relationship; a few photos from throughout your relationship (ideally with friends and family), joint bills or insurance papers, cards congratulating you on your wedding/ any kids, bills showing you live at the same address etc. Otherwise what you have looks good!
