Hello, I waited for 6 months after application and I did not get the appointment.

If you look at Notice of Action of I-485, it says 'Call ... to schedule your appointment'

I called and you know that? I got the appointment the next day. (Can you see the problem of communication among CIS branches?)

One thing you should remember is that ask the confirmation number. The official at the biometric center will ask for your 'appointment letter'. You can just say you scheduled it through the phone and give him/her confirmation number. They will check the number and contact CIS and will go head. Hope it helps.

Well done to you! But not all NOA's say please call to schedule appointment. The majority say that they will schedule an appointment for you.

It doesn't always work that way...

When my wife first did her biometrics, the NOA said to call and make the appointment. She recently got a letter to do the biometrics again. We tried to reschedule the date, but were told that it could not be rescheduled.

I would suggest to read the notice carefully to see if you need to make the appointment or if it will be scheduled for you.

Yes, if your notice says "we'll schedule one for you" you cannot call in and schedule it yourself.

When did you receive your NOA's for your EAD and AOS ?? I received mine in Mid July 2005 and mine said to call for an appointment. However.... only a week or two later the NOA's that people started receiving said that the USCIS would contact them with an appointment date.

I'm wondering if you received your NOA's around the time the biometrics appointment process changed and that even though you actually should have called to schedule your biometrics, all the talk on VJ at the time was about people having to wait for the USCIS to contact them !!

Glad to hear that you got your appointment scheduled soon after calling but I can't help feeling that you could have been done a LONG time before now !!
