employment letter for the affidavit of support

Hi all,

sorry for so many questions all at once! I'm wondering what kind of letter you got from your employer for the affidavit of support. I have my last 3 years of tax returns and W2s, and asked my employer business office for a generic letter that says I work there, for how long, and at what salary. do I also need a detailed letter from my department head / immediate boss in more detail about my job? (I am the petitioner, and I make above 125% of the poverty line).

A letter form your employer on company letterhead stating how long you have been employed and your gross salary is what works for most.

I got mine from human resources, but getting a letter from your manger has worked for other VJers.

I typed up my letter at work and included that it was a permanent position, my date of hire and my salary. I printed it on company letterhead, placed it in front of my manager on his desk and asked him to sign it.
