Hello,

I have a question. I have received my instructing me to send a list of documents to Montreal. Included on that list is the DS-230, DS-160, DS-156K, DS156, DS-160 receipt, and checklist. I have completed these forms. The 156K asks me to included proof of financial support, birth certificate, police check, etc.

Do I need to send that now? All of the information I have read seems to indicate that I do not need to until my interview at the consulate in Montreal.

I would like to be sure. Can anyone who has gone through the process verify what I should be sending in? Not to be a pain, but it would be great if a few people would echo what I need to send exactly. My fiancee have been pretty thorough with everything so far, and I would hate to have things held up because I failed to submit the proper paperwork.

Thanks in advance to everyone that posts regularly on here. The forums have been so useful to me.

the stuff on the checklist you do not need to send now. you have to bring that to the interview. just fill out the forms. anything they say you need to send with them can be brought to interview.

I would NOT recommend sending in your financial support, birth certificate, etc right now. Originals are required at the interview, and I would be hardpressed to send those things in the mail and hope they didn't get lost.

Send in all of the forms as listed on the paper. Send in the checklist (even if you don't have a medical scheduled yet).

Bring all original documents - police cert, birth cert, etc - with you to the interview, along with a copy of the DS-160 confirmation page, just to be safe.

(If you wish to be super safe, you could be like us and bring a copy of all documents you submitted to Montreal for P3 to your interview too. We were overly prepared.)
