Interview Schedule on January 19th

I am scheduled for my visa interview on January 19. Just like my medical interview, I am very anxious, apprehensive, and tensed. I cannot sleep anymore thinking about the possible questions that may be raised. Everywhere I go, all I can think about are questions questions questions..... HELP :crying:

I just received my fiance's Affidavit of Support documents and these are:

1) W2 of 2008

2) 1040 of 2008

3) Online print out of his bank statement since the bank refuses to give him a letter.

4) Conditional offer of employment.

Are these documents enough considering he only has his 2008 tax returns and he doesn't have pay stubs to provide at this point?

Will the CONDITIONAL OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT suffice the EMPLOYMENT LETTER? At this point, I only have this document to prove his employment since he still has yet to start working on January 11. The letter states about the job being full time, his salary, his benefits and the like. I am not worried about the poverty line since the salary that he will be receiving is way beyond whats required.

Also, I strongly disapprove of my fiance sending me money, reason enough for me to pay for my plane ticket and my medical expenses. But there were three times in the past where he was able to send a considerable amount because he wanted me to buy some stuff like barong, souvenir shirts etc... Do I have to include these money receipts?

Thank you for your brilliant insights VJ members.

Just include as many documents of support as you can.

There's nothing to be concerned about the interview questions as long as you give the CO the same information as what your papers state. Consistency is the rule.

For me, it's positive that you'll pass the interview. I can hardly wait to welcome you to the U.S.

Hakuna matata.

Copied-Pasted from my post on October 20, 2009:

The interview schedule I had was at 7 a.m. today. I was already outside the U.S. Embassy at 5:30 a.m. with all the other people who arrived there a whole lot earlier.

In spite of the queue, I was already done at 9:30 a.m. The consular officer congratulated me with a warm smile. I requested her to allow me to just pick up my visa instead of getting it through the courier. She replied, "Sure. We'll call you when your visa is ready so you can pick it up."

The guy at Window 37 noted my contact details and told me the same thing-- they'd give me a ring when I could finally pick up the visa. That means an open date.

And oh, here are some of the questions during my interview (not in particular order though and I may not have remembered all of the questions):

How old are you?

How did you meet your fiance?

(I posted a personal ad online in December last year and he e-mailed me on December 25 as a response to that ad then we began e-mailing each other at least once daily. It took us three weeks from the first mail to start chatting.

The consular officer asked, "How old are you again?"

I said, "I am now 22 years old."

She added, "How come you posted an online ad when you could just meet guys around?"

My answer was, "Oh well people say that it's fine to broaden one's horizon. Cliche.")

How old is he?

What is his work?

Is he single? Does he have children?

Do you have children?

(My fiance and I are both single, as in purely single with no children yet.)

When did he visit you?

Where are his parents from?

Would you like to have children? How many?

Will you want to work when you get to the U.S.? (I said yes. So she continued...) How does he feel about that? (My answer: We have already talked about it and he said it's totally up to me. He is very supportive in all ways.)

What are his hobbies?

(I answered, "He likes scuba diving a lot. In fact, we went to a few beaches when he was in Cebu."

She asked again, "Did you go scuba diving with him?"

I replied, "I still don't know how to swim but he taught me snorkeling with a life vest on."

She laughed, "Oh! You can't swim?"

Highest praises to the Creator of mankind!

You will need paystubs hard to get a pink slip with out them.

Good Luck

She's been reading a lot of experiences and said it depends on the consulate, some don't even look at them. I haven't started the job yet (starts on Monday) and it will take another month to get 2 pay stubs, and they may want more. So we would have to wait another 2 months to even go to the interview.

“Depends on the consulate” does not play into factor, your dealing with only one consulate USEM!

Hi there, super congratulations. We 're about to submit our papers to the service center this month. Im truly happy for you guys.!!!

By the way did the consul check all your documents - proof of your relationship? I am bit worried we might not have enough to show the guys at the embassy.

What ever proof you submit in the process of your K-1 petition will be in the hands of USEM at the time of interview and YES they will check ALL documents, and the ones he/she submitted at time of interview. The more proof you have the better!

Hi GuardianAngel...

I think you are making a good financial case for yourself. However, I would include a Tax Transcript for 2008.

Also, if your income exceeded the poverty line in 2007 and 2006, I would include Tax Transcripts for those years as well.

Do you have your 1040 or any W-2s for 2009 yet?

Receipts for money you sent to your fiancée serve two purposes: they show a willingness and ability to provide support, and they show an ongoing relationship.

I believe that the Consul Officers look at other things as well. For example, I believe that they factor in your education level, your line of work, and your job potential. I believe they look at the same issues in regard to your fiancée.

The most important thing about your interview is the Consul Officer realizing that love is in the air!

Good luck... :star:

Maybe you can include some bank statements from 2008-2009 which show deposits. I use direct deposit for my paycheck and it shows up on my bank statements.

I went to the bank and they said they don't do them. I asked to speak to a manager and asked for him to call me when he got in and I never received a call. I printed out my online banking. I have a bit over $10,000 in the bank.

Tahoma, I see you're in Seattle... Where at? My fiance is from Cebu and I'm in Seattle.
