Not true, Lone. The state DOES get a chunk of $ every ticket. Thatz why our muscle-headed Gov is pushing this evil plan. Do a lil' more homework, and you will see....

PS, Im loving my Passport SRX radar and laser detector even more with this news....

I heard it's illegal to have these?

They should ticket speedy drivers. They'll make more $$$$$.

People have forgotten how to drive in California. 85 m.p.h. is the norm on the open highway, and that is the trucks. It's time for the CHP to slow things down, and write some tickets in the process. However, it is not the state that benefits by raising revenue, but the local and county governments.
<sarkiness on>

How about they charge people in traffic jams $100 fines for "disrupting traffic flow"? That (especially in L.A. or Bay Area) will get the budged balanced faster than the red-light cameras.

in CA... :o

heck everyone in the state will be fined .....

Close to the truth. I haven't lived in a congested area for 20 years, but there is something about going 70 mph in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic that is a little unnerving.

I need to get new shoes, trade in the 'lead foot' shoes :blink: California politicians have been talking about legalizing marajuana. With the way people are using the medical marajuana cards the state might as well legalize it and tax the hell out of it. They aren't getting squat now and the marajuana stores are making tons.

They are not even hiding the fact that the cameras are there to boost revenue for

the state, in a budget crisis. Yet you keep blindly defending them in the name

of "the law" and "safety" when it is obvious to anyone with a modicum of intelligence

that their sole purpose is revenue generation. Shame on you.

We had them here in Charlotte and it was proved they don't put these cameras...... at intersection with high-accident reporting, oh no, they places them in areas where they are most likely to gain revenue.

Not sure how they do it in CALIFORNIA but here they were handled by a private contractor and you mailed payment to them, the city was on a percentage basis.
