Hey , Just wanted to let you know that i today received a interview letter regarding my 1-751. Receiving the letter wasn't really a surprise. I kinda thought i would get one, since i had not received an approval letter by now, compared to everyone else who filed around my time. Im guessing i was chosen at random as i thought my evidence was strong ( child birth certificates, mortgage, joint assets etc although i omitted any photographs). Its not until four weeks time so im guessing i just have to chew into my arm from now to then in anticipation and nervs.

Hi! Would you mind me asking exactly what you sent in as evidence? We're getting ready to file and I'd really appreciate knowing. Thanks and best of luck at the interview.

Wow! That looks like very strong evidence... I guess you are correct, randomly selected!

wow is right - you seem to have everything they could possibly want listed there. It must be a random thing because they didn't even ask for additional evidence. Thank you for posting what you sent.

No i didn't receive any RFE. I guess the positive side is at least i heard from them, as i know for some people it has taken over a year to get an interview date. The letter i received was just a standard letter asking we bring originals of what we sent and gave a list of other evidence ( which they already had). MY only question was it asked for 2 recent pictures? It sounded like passport pictures but didn't clarify. Like i said it was a standard letter so im guessing they dont need passport pics. So I dont think i will bother with that as they already have my pic from the bio unless other peeps out there have taken passport pics to their interview? it also asked to bring pictures of us as a couple ( in the list of evidence) which we will do.

I didn't submit any pics either which has me kicking myself now also. I don't see what the big deal is though regarding pix. Anyone who is trying to pull the wool over their eyes and remove conditions based on a fraudulent marriage can get together and snap some pictures. I would have thought that the hard proof would be children's birth certificates, joint tax returns, joint ownership of vehicles, joint mortgage, etc. Sheesh!

I wasn't planning to send any photos either - we only have about 2 of us together over 3 years of marriage (other than wedding pics). I'm allergic to having my picture taken - I hate it. Now I think I'll print out what I have and send them along with the explanation of why there aren't more - course when they see the pics they should understand why I hate having a photo taken! I too thought that other evidence would be more important than a photo.

Don't worry.. although im sure the pics are usefulas it makes the application more personal i guess to the adjudicator. Even if i sent pics i'm sure it would of gone to interview anyway. i read a UCIS memo somewhere online that cases are pulled randomly for interview so it doesn't matter how good the evidence is in that scenario. However, upon reflection i would of certainly sent a couple of pics just for file sake.

Did you keep a copy of the evidence you sent? Make sure you take it, and take the originals... also, go to Costco and take 2 passport pictures (I think it is $4.95) If you don't bring something they asked for, then they can get cranky and things could go wrong. It is better to carry things and find out they are not needed than go there and find out they needed something....

Also, my guess is that maybe your bio was taken a while ago, so they need a newer picture....

You seem to have sent in plenty of evidence...We just sent ours in and now I'm a bit worried because I felt pretty confident myself. We sent in like three pictures because I HATE photos and that's really all we had for the 2 years of marriage....And we don't have children either....So the picutres they received were one right after our marriage on our honeymoon and two from a couple months ago....Nothing in between...I hope that's enough. Seeing as how you had so much evidence I'm sure they just randomly select people for interview. The only other thing I can speculate is that something doesn't add up, but that's probably unlikey. I wouldn't worry about it. We worried ourselves to death over our original interview and all they ended up asking us was where we worked and out address before they approved it. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Good Luck!

Without knowing much about your case, I'd also guess that you were chosen at random since you're still married, have a child, as well as a lot of sound proof of a real relationship.

Pictures are considered seconary evidence since, as someone mentioned, any Tom, #######, or Harry can take a picture with someone and call her his spouse.

In addition, the UK is not considered a "highly fraudulent" country.

Good luck - not that you'll need it, though.

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil

Which countries are considered highly fraudulent?

Thanks for the goodluck wishes  yeah i was confident with the evidence i sent. I don't think i could of sent anything else to prove a bona-fide marriage. Maybe the evidence was too good so they wanted to see and verify the originals and thats what flagged a random interview. Who knows. I will take some pics with us to the interview though. We have a ton of pics together i just didn't send them with my packet , as i thought having part of your DNA 'reborn' and sharing everything financial in your life was pretty good evidence. Although i'm only going to take a few pics to the interview, as i know they rarely look at them all. I will take the wedding album again as i did for the last interview. Also group family pictures and baby birth pics with me present.

If they still don't believe we are a couple then we just head to Italy ( US wife already has EU citizenship so no immigration circus to worry about LOL) where we have a holiday home. Either way life will be good ( prob better in Italy though lol) .
