so we were just gathering everything for the adjustment of status packet, and I couldn't find my vaccination records.

at the medical in Australia, I got a big brown envelope with all the medical forms in there, and attached to that was a smaller envelope with my vaccination record in it.

when I arrived at the PoE in America, they took the big brown envelope.. WITH the vaccination record attached

now how am I supposed to send it in???

please any advice would be wonderful, I'm freaking out.. my k-1 runs out in 20 days or so

If "they" took it, the small brown envelope is now where the big brown envelope is: in your USCIS file.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

oh so I just don't send it, and they would know where it is. that would be cool. I'm 99.9% sure they took it, I remember forgetting to take it off the brown envelope. lol

guess I will try my luck, thank you!

if they don't have it I'm sure I'll hear about it.. hopefully before my visa runs out.. oh God heh

You DO need it. You were supposed to get a copy for yourself from your doctor. So you will need to contact the doctor you went to in Australia and have them send a copy to you. it's unlikely they'll mail it overseas so if you have someone able to pick it up do that, or mail it to someone in Australia and they can forward it on. The copy that was "taken" was supposed to be taken (unless it was your copy, the medical is REQUIRED to be in your packet).

The date on your VISA is irrelevant now. As you have entered the US, the date to "worry about" is the one on your I-94, or if it's not there, 90 days (not 3 months, 90 days) from the date you entered the US.

Also, you do not HAVE to apply before your I-94 expires but it is advisable to do so just to "be safe". As long as you arrived before your K1 expired, and married before you 90 days were up then you're fine.

Good luck with the process.

thanks, yeah I've already organized a family member back home to pick me up another copy and mail it express

I was going to just send the vaccination records envelope with my I-485 packet, but now I'm reading in the VJ guide that you need to take it to a civil surgeon to get a vaccination 'supplement' - doesn't even explain that in the I-485 instructions, just says to include a vaccination supplement.. which I would have assumed was the small envelope I got from my doctor in Aus! :/

anyway thanks guys, we seem to be on track with our AoS now :)

Please read my thread here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=235331 about AOS.

You do not HAVE to include a supplement, it's just if you were required to continue your shots AFTER the medical you had for K1. It's more thoroughly explained in the thread I mentioned but if you didn't need further shots, you can just send in your completed vaccination record from the K1, even though it SHOULD be in your packet you send it as a little "reminder" to them or a little "note" I suppose that you already completed your shots.

Hope that helps :D
