My husband just received the NOA1 hardcopy today. The receipt date was Jan 27.

Though it's way too early to say, I'm really hoping to have the NOA 2 before June because he's not going to be in the US for July and August...

Received NOA1 in the mail yesterday! Need to start working on NVC paperwork, etc. just in case things go quicker than normal.

Good luck everyone!

I agree; best to get your paperwork in order and be ahead of the game than to scramble around later. I've got all my information ready for filing, the only exception is one shot in immunization. In fact, if we got NOA2 approval today and this went to NVC, we'd be ready...well sans a cover letter etc. Ok I'd also need the 2 passport pics but am doing those next week.

The USCIS site reflects a five month adjudication period and it may very well be that but here's hoping it is not!! I've been ending very positive vibes to the universe to have the NOA2 done shortly. I'm happy for but envious of those that had approval in less than 30 days or just around that timeline. The record is 9 days....9 days !! Wow. Our NOA1 was Jan 7th and so we're at the four week mark in a 5 days...patience is really all we have at this stage of the game. Although a 'touch'' would go a long way.

Good luck to all...

I noticed that some people got email notification, How do I sign up for that. I did sign up for Case updated but since I have no numbers yet my profile is empty right now. Did I miss something???

I also noticed that most people got their NOA1 hard copy in about 7 days after they send it, Today is day 7 for me and I have been calling home all day checking and nothing yet starting to worry, should I????

There's lots of information on the guides. There are also a few people that have posted shortcuts throught the NVC ie James, LingChe. Check the guides, you'll find them at the top of your page/menu. Here's a quick link:

California is currently working on the October 2009 applications. My hope is that they can get to this backlog and move Oct/Nov/Dec within the next two months. That's wishful thinking. According to the VJ estimates our NOA2 will be processed in early May but it would be great to have March or April.

It looks like USCIS is definitely moving through a lot of the Oct filings and I think they'll move some of the Nov filings within Feb. If that becomes the case then it is better news for all of us...

USCIS is approving petitions around the 4 month mark. Good luck. Read up on the NVC guides so you are prepared for the next stage. That is thankfully much, much quicker than USCIS, so be ready to zoom. Good luck!

I see more and more approvals from November filers and a small amount from December. At the earliest, we could be getting our NOA2s by the end of March/early April--depending on what day of January you filed. I pray that none of us get RFE's and we all sail through NVC with no problems.:dance::dance:
