Well that isn't much of a factor. I got NOA1 Jan 7th and there are a few that beat us to the NOA2 gate. So while it's a nice little number to remember, frankly, there are people waiting since Oct/Nov/Dec and now Jan. There are probably significant inconsistencies plus other variables in background searches. I don't know how the work is assigned at USCIS....maybe the person that works on your case, goes off on vacation and there is no coverage; thus it awaits the return of that employee or something. Who knows...the mystery of the inner workings. It would be great if anyone on here has any inside information and could shed some light. I asked that on another post and got no reply and now I can't find the post haha.

I'm very optimistic and believe it'll happen soon but it does give you a bit of a kick in the gooch when those filing after get approvals, great for them, not so great for those of us waiting. Such is life.

CONGRATS to those who got their NO2! I look at as a win win situation. You get to move onto the next phase. Work is being done and time is passing by, and it is inevitable that the rest of us will get through too. Keep posting up the good news despite some of the negative feedback. Again, congrats and I wish you a speedy NVC process.

No, I'm in Canada and my wife is in Phoenix. I'm moving down after I get the visa. I love Arizona. I have been to Sedona, it's gorgeous.

Yeah, Sedona is gorgeous! I wish I could take hikes and bike down there more often. Maybe when my husband gets here, we will have more time to travel domestically. These past years, I've always just left the country during my summer and winter breaks.

I read your going to file electronically...are you going by the information from wiki to opt in to file electronically? I hope we get through this process smoothly. I'm just waiting for the mail from my husband, he mailed me his passport and tax papers signed. From a previous post, a woman said it was illegal to mail passports from Jordan...I hope everyting is okay with the mail. Being away from our spouse is one of the most difficult things to experience.

Hi, yes Sedona...a spritual experience it is. I went in 2008 and was enthralled by it's beauty, then returned last July and proposed !! I'm going to try to get out to Arizona over Easter otherwise I won't see my wife for three months. I was there in Feb. It is hard. We've been doing the long distance thing since laste 2007.

I've been on the fence with the electronic filing or snail mail and we've decided to go for it and file electronically. I did look at the wiki pages and also posts. I've also PMd some people asking for additional help. I feel confident in doing it this way and I do think it'll shave some time off the overall process. At least I hope so. I can't wait to get the NOA2 approval so we can get on with the application for the visa. We''ve got 90% of the documents already scanned into computers so it's really just a matter of receiving word of the petition's approval, then obtaining the NVC case number, and then opting in to EP.

Are you thinking of filing electronicially?

I'm keeping an eye out for discounted air fare....gets expensive flying into the USA every two months or so...

You said your husband mailed you his passport and his tax information. However, this isn't required. Because he is the beneficiary, at NVC what is required is a photocopy of the bio page of his passport ie identification, picture, passport number, etc. That is the part they need but not his passport. Further, there isn't any requirement for his tax information; the I 864 that will get mailed out will be asking for your tax inforation. You have to be earning over the poverty guidelines for 2009 which sits at about $18, 202 - you'll need filing for taxes 2009 and two more years of past taxes. You also need a letter of employment or proof of self employment etc. See the guides for more information.

I don't usually go around the site that much....but I was going through the Wiki...and was reading it up...its a little confusing...like...are there any other pages/links on that...I am confused as to how you decide where to file exactly...montreal or Ghanzhou?...and...how do you know which is the correct DS-3032 form...etc...basically I kinda got really confused!!...let me know...thanks! sorry if I sound really dumb right now :S...

Okay please ignore my last post, sounded really stupid then! soo I read up...the wiki...the James shortcut...and the Ling one...but its kinda not clear about the DS-3032 form...like...one says not to send it until you get it from the NVC...the other says to send it before, generate your own barcode etc etc...so what's really are the steps...

First...you call the NVC after a week and get your case numberr....

Second...you OPTIN for EP by sending an email with the attached DS-3032 form (with the barcode pasted that you have generated)

Third...wait for NVC to acknowledge it...once they do...then they send you a DS-3032 bill...that you have to pay???

Then it gets confusing after that...when do you ask for ur invoice number?? etc etc...

Sorry, its just that, theres just too much info but the steps aren't clear enough...

Sim you and me are feb filers and have close NOA1 dates so lets pray for each other so we get our NOA2 soon.haha i see filers in jan gettin noa 2 in almost 2 months so we can hope for the best:)

nvc just received my file. does anybody know how long it takes the file to process at the national visa center.
