Now I'm all for giving someone the benefit of the doubt.. but my question is this..

WHAT is her status ... has she applied for a visa? Does she have permanent residency in the US?

I wish I had reported this story.. She apparently blames her appearance, my guess is she couldn't prove ties to Canada..

Yeah, having a one way ticket to a country isn't at all suspicious that you're trying to immigrate

She said the interrogation by the border agents was humiliating.

"They asked me about my background, how much I pay in rent and why I don't own my own house. I don't know why they ask me these questions, if I'm pregnant or not," she said.

Yeah, all these questions are only asked to muslims..... What a whiner seriously. The article doesn't have enough information, but I think if she had a pending visa or other facts germane to the situation would have been included.

Will King, director of the Centre for Islamic Development, said he thinks racial profiling is going on.

Clearly someone here knows absolutely nothing about immigration process.

The woman is a non-U.S. citizen, and had a one way ticket to visit her husband in Ohio. It would be helpful to know if he was a U.S. citizen, but sans that information, the one way ticket is really a red light. My sister in law was turned away at Pearson Airport 2 years ago when she was going to visit a friend in Tennessee. She too had a one way ticket, and was turned away. I guess they were profiling her too, they don't like Canadians of Irish descent that are over 6 feet tall

That is so stupid. Obviously a lot of people are not aware of what we go through during immigration process to understand the reasons she was denied entry.

They always seem to do that in these cases though. Actually i'm sure they do it with a lot of news stories. You know when you are watching the news and looking at the television saying 'you didn't tell us what the person was doing there in the first place' - or 'why didn't you ask them why they had a loaded gun in their pocket when they said they were just vacuuming
