Americans and Geography

Back when my daughter was in grade school, her father was working in Madagascar. Her teacher asked the kids where their parents worked and my daughter told her where her father was. The teacher insisted that Madagascar wasn't a place. Even after my daughter pointed it out on a map. And you wonder why some Americans don't know geography???

If you're worried about being sued for speaking your mind, you are either delusional, or have no understanding of this nations constitution, or more likely, both. AS for your fears about getting murdered, get a better job and move to a better neighborhood.

You are missing the point. Are you free to move around South Central? Malibu was/is awesome. What about other places? That is my point. I did not need to walk around in fear that i drive in the wrong street or neighbor hood and up with did. With a nobody saw nothing. Please no one go down the road of trying to find the odd article and claiming it shows Australia is a South Central. Yes crime does occur in Aus like every other city, however, nowhere near as prevalent as dangerous as the US. No such thing as no-go zones.

You are wrong regarding being free. Have you noticed that every news channel now has to say alleged so that they don't get sued. So where is the freedom of speech? How about free from being sued in general. Try spilling hot coffee on yourself and suing in an English court. Fail! Or suing for $20 million because a door malfunctioned and closed on you. Sorry but you are not free Rob, you have to watch your every step. In particular anyone who has a business or something that something someone can be injured on. Even when driving because you can be sued for that. No such thing as an accident here.

I also did enjoy seeing the Australian government celebrating with their constituents. Which includes Jewish celebrations in areas where a large portion of people are Jewish. That is freedom my friend.

I was always ashamed of this truth. Then I travelled and met a lot of people from around the world who were just as ignorant about world geography and world history and politics. I taught students from many different European, Asian, and Oceanic countries, and they knew no more than my American students. I guess it's just that more ignorant Americans travel than ignorant people from other countries.

Well.... I think this pretty much covers it all....
