Y'know what's flippin' hilarious? In my second year English course we had to write an argument paper against something that happened and argue against whether it was good or a bad outcome. For example - the atomic bomb in Japan was considered a good thing. You would then write how it wasn't.

Wellllllll... I wrote that the Oregon Trail wasn't a good thing. I GOT AN A!.

Montreal: BEAT!!! Approved!!!!!

America's actual position in the world has fallen quite a bit in the last 2 decades, but the envy foreigners have towards us hasn't changed one bit.

In some areas I would agree, yes we have fallen. I dont know if I could agree with you on the envy statement. I think most foreigners have a low opinion of America but want to come here and take advantage of what America has to offer. My wife's aunt is married to a Sweden man and this guy has a very low oppion of America, but he has never been here and its all been hear say, so point being is that even though his country may be geographically challenged we(USA) get all the attention and in his mind he thinks Sweden is better. Further more he b!tches about our type of gov. but buys most of his stuff online from america because it is cheaper.

The US State Department's opinion on what other nations should call themselves is pretty irrelevant.

Considering the history and how the leaders came to power I must disagree.

Now I really have to go
