Hello,

Does anyone know what the requirements are for a Sworn Affidavit, as requested by the I-130 form?

Can I just have people write the information requested and sign and date with their address, birthplace, etc. or does it need to be notartized?

Sworn affidavits are usually notarized.

As the instructions say under Evidence of the Relationship on page 2: "Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by at least two people," etc. An affidavit is always notarized, else it's not a sworn or affirmed affidavit.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

yes get them notorized....that is what we did for ours.

Removal of conditions Journey

16 March 2012 Sent I-751 package from Aviano AB, Italy.

29 March 2012 Received everything back...wrong fee. thought we didn't have to pay biometrics since we were sending fingerprint cards and passport photos.

30 March 2012 Sent everything out again from Aviano AB, Italy.

10 April 2012 Check cashed

17 April 2012 Received NOA1 dated 6 April.

06 Dec 2012 Received 10 yr green card. Letter said it was approved 28 November 2012.

Yes, ours were notorized too. Can't be that expensive since I read that in most States becoming a notary public is

about as difficult as applying for a library card. :D

CR-1 Journey

11-24-2009: Medical exam in Munich

12-16-2009: Interview in Frankfurt : Approved

11-17-2011: Filed for removal of conditions

11-21-2011: NOA1

02-07-2012: Biometrics appointment

09-04-2012: I-797: Approved

09-18-2012: Card received

Most banks notarize for free for customers...

10/14/2000 - Met Aboard a Cruise ship

06/14/2003 - Married Savona Italy

I-130

03/21/2009 - I-130 Mailed to Chicago lockbox

11-30-09: GOT GREEN CARD in mail!!!!!!

Citizenship Process;

1/11/2013: Mailed N400 to Dallas Texas

3/11/2013: interview.. Approved

4/4/2013. : Oath! Now a U.S. citizen!
