Blue Moon is pretty good. They had this promotion here where it was like $12 for a 12 pack. I got suckered in, then they raised the prices to $18-20. If i'm going to spend that much, i'll get the good stuff (Stella)

I just posted a pic in another thread, of some molson, then I read the article that went along with it  (it's fox news....go figure)

Scientists have found a new threat to the planet: Canadian beer drinkers.

The government-commissioned study says the old, inefficient "beer fridges" that one in three Canadian households use to store their Molson and Labatt's contribute significantly to global warming by guzzling gas- and coal-fired electricity.

"People need to understand the impact of their lifestyles," British environmental consultant Joanna Yarrow tells New Scientist magazine. "Clearly the environmental implications of having a frivolous luxury like a beer fridge are not hitting home. This research helps inform people — let's hope it has an effect."

The problem is that the beer fridges are mostly decades-old machines that began their second careers as beverage dispensers when Canadians upgraded to more energy-efficient models to store whatever Canadians eat besides doughnuts and poutine.

University of Alberta researcher Denise Young, who led the study, suggests that provincial authorities hold beer-fridge buy-backs or round-ups to eliminate the threat — methods that Americans use to get guns off the streets.

whoo hoo, our tax money was deposited tonight  so we are going car shopping this weekend..

it took less then a week to get our refund... the past years we have been going to an accountant and paying extra to get the "fast refund" but it never was shorter then a week.. usually it took 2 weeks or so

Wow that's really fast! I wish we could file now, but we need to close on the house first. It would be nice to have some extra cash!

I just realized that I am wearing sneakers... I must have accidentally put on my sneakers this morning.

I have all dress clothes on and then... freaking bright blue adidas sneakers!

How did I not notice this?? Now I am all paranoid, I don't want to get up.

I did this when I went for my K-1 interview in Montreal. I brought dress pants and thought I'd looks all professional and forgot the shoes. So we had dress attire and purple, blue and pink Puma's. It was a winning combination, that's for sure!

Oh my god.

I just ate a whole whackload of heart-shaped jube-jubes...

My stomach,it HURTS!!!

:(

Good one lgg :P

Wow! That was fast!! Congrats to you and your husband!! :D

I have news about our house! After the inspection last weekend we decided to ask the seller to do a few things. The big thing was fixing the plumbing in the bathroom, but we asked for a bunch of little things too. Our Realtor said it was worth asking, because you never know if they're going to do it. So we asked them to put gutters on the back of the house (there weren't any...), move the dryer vent, fix some paint chips in the back, fix a couple broken tiles in the bathroom, fix the bathroom taps (the hot is cold and the cold is hot), fix the outdoor outlets in the front of the house that don't seem to work, hookup the dishwasher (it was just sitting in the hole), clean and service the furnace and replace the vent on the roof. I figured we'd be lucky to get them two a couple of those things... but they came back to us today and agreed to do it all!! How lucky is that?! :D I feel pretty relieved we aren't going to move in and need to go to work on all these issues. Now we can move in and just fix the little cosmetic things we don't like when we want to do it.

I just spent the last 30 minutes fixing my husband's resume... cause to be totally honest... it looked terrible. He hasnt had to do a resume for almost 7 years, so I re-did it on a template for him.

Looks much more professional now.

Do you guys remember all that drama with our events planner and her son-in-law who married her daughter? All that immigration stuff.

Well apparently she had to go down and they grilled HER for 3 hours... is that even normal to grill the mother??

I really do think they've been caught.

They're doing a lot of investigating.

No she had to go get interviewed at the same place I went for my AOS interview and the same place they went to.

Like why get the mom involved? I guess because she was the events planner and the wedding was here.

This is so great and we're all gossiping about it today.

Everyone is like: "See Nevada, they should have just done it right like you said"

And I'm all: "Mmm hmm" with a little head shake. :P

Snowing away here in DC. Up to 2 feet they say! Thank god I dont work till tomorrow night. Should be neat to wake up in the morning with all the new snow on the ground. My dog will be in heaven!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
