Recall reading some of his battles he was having. This is super news!!! Congrats!! I say a dairy Queen Banana split is in order,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Yea when I went to pick him up he was like: "Guess I'm getting that game" I promised him this subway simulator computer game if he made it again.

And yes after all the struggles with past schools, I am very relieved and happy. Sometimes it just takes kids a while to come around.

lol no because he was bored for two years and didn't apply himself. It also did a number on his self esteem.

I went through hell with the schools here. They wanted to classify him as ADD, but I knew he just wasn't putting his head into his studies. It was hard but he got through it.

Sprailenes-Understandable that he would be bored with material that he learned before...And on top of that to be classified with an additional learning disability diagnosis...Yikes!... :blink:

Gee...Couldn't they just realize that he was "smarter than the average kid", instead of negatively affecting his self esteem?

I hate it when schools give kids "labels" this way......(especially more so that in this case it is their fault for making him repeat a grade..)

But now that he's on the honour roll.....I'm sure he can move onto bigger learning challenges ahead!

I tried Carl's Jr's new Grilled Cheese 6 dollar burger today.

I wasn't realy that impressed with it.

Good thing I had a coupon and the lady messed up my order. I paid for a normal one and got a 6 dollar one, saved myself like 3 bucks.

We also dropped our guests off at the airport along with my husband's mom. I'm glad the house is quiet.

It's strange going to the airport and not being the one flying.

I also got an American loonie. It's pretty cool.
