Seems that many people have a fear of needles. Doesn't bother me at all personally - never has, what exactly is the fear, pain of a needle?

I really can't pinpoint what it is that causes the fear. Just thinking about it now, i'm tensing up. It's not really that painful, so I would guess that it is the visual aspect of it.

I made some oatmeal scones and they are so good. Damn good that Im on my second piece. These scones are supposed to be my "healthy high fiber" breakfast, but at the rate Im going, it might not last til tomorrow... *pat self*

That's like the Oat & Honey Fibre 1 bars I've been eating lately. I can't eat just one...so I'm probably doubling my daily recommended fibre intake! They're so damn good.

I still can't discern what it is about needles and donating blood that gives me so much anxiety. I got through it, but if there weren't a giant room full of people who I know and would tease me mercilessly, I probably would have had an anxiety attack, or cried like a little kid

Heh...I had four bars one day, and that night my bowels kept rumbling and I was all, "What the hell is going on?" It took reading a bowflex post for me to realize it was all the fibre...

Good morning all. Ant...I hope you didn't pay your co-pay for that appointment! You mentioned that after all your chitchat with the Dr. that you failed to have your medical issue addressed!

Carla-Lol..Yeah, I was still stuck with the co-pay...Though it's not that bad...Lol...It really just amounts to the cost of a timbit with coffee...lol...Would have paid the same to meet them at timmy's if they were any other person.....So not a loss there....

As for the medical issue..They are looking into it....Blah...

Personally, I'm looking forward to more "Canadian conversation" than "dealing with the medical issue"...

And if all goes well...maybe we can have timmy's too! (lol..just kidding...would be too weird that way...but timmy's is right next door..sounds tempting..)

Krikit-Lol..."conflict of interest" and "patient/doctor confidentiality". and "it's too darn uncomfortable"....enough said....However...I will mention next time that there are "online communities" and "other Canadians" out there to help...And yes, I did offer some bit of "immigration advice" to the doctor too..

Thanks Rev. I think that it's going to take a while and I am going to wait for the best thing to come out of it. I'm for sure not going to take the first thing that comes up, because well... that really hasn't gotten me anywhere.

No, it's not odd, I was just giving you a hard time. You post things like "shouldn't that be a joint decision" and stuff like that a lot.

My hubby's like that too. We bought a car four months ago but he does all driving, maintenance and insurance on it so I often refer to it as "his" car. He promptly corrects me with "No, honey. It's OUR car."

When *I* got pregnant, "WE" are pregnant.

When he calls and speaks to my aquaintances/extended family, he introduces himself as "This is Forrest, of the Evo and Forrest team."

It's pretty cute.

This morning, I am going to face one of my greatest fears. No, i'm not going to go swimming in search of sharks with lazers, that is for another day. But I am, going to donate blood. I have a very serious phobia of needles and this has been a problem for a while for me. I have very deep veins in my arms, so drawing blood from there is not really a possibility. They generally have to take it from the top of my hands, or on my upper arm, which is painfull, in addition to my fear. But this year, they are offering baskeball tickets if you donate blood, and my wife loves basketball, so I'm going to try. It's 45 minutes til my appointment......

Ya...Noo, I don't donate blood for the very same reason (fear of needles). I already have to get my blood tested for what seems like every two weeks (thyroids level, prenatal testing, genetic testing, etc) and each time, it takes a while for me to calm my nerves before they poke me.

When they draw my blood, I feel it! Then I'm woozy afterwards from loss of blood.
