so this last Saturday I did my taxes online using TaxACT.com.. it was super easy.. and it only cost 15 bucks to have my State refund money direct deposited to my account...

anywho it said to allow 8 weeks to process but I checked it this morning and it was already processed... and they said to expect the money within 10 days.. if how fast they processed it is any indication.. there is a possibility we could get the money this week  that would be great because then we could go get me a car this weekend :D

I can't believe we have been spedning the money to have an accountant during our taxes when I could have been doing it myself :P

oh and we got hubby's car back today.. we traded in our other car to cover the cost of repair, plus we got 100 bucks cash...

I hope I do too! Unfortunately back problems run in both sides of my family... My genes were doomed from the beginning! LoL! I need to find a chiropractor down here and also find out if TriCare covers the cost. I'm only 25 & I have custom fit orthotics for my shoes!

awwwwww (F) I'm sorry to hear that. I hope everything works out for you.

Most people wouldn't know what a second third anniversary was without asking first. I find it funny that you don't have to explain it here.

LOL well, truthfully speaking I DON'T know what it is...so I'm assuming you did a civil marriage, and a ceremony a year later....*pure guess*

And yes Huggles, this is the foreclosure we were looking at - so it needs work, i'm sure you will all hear more about it as we start actually doing that work haha

The foreclosure purchase must be far different than in the US. That was so quick!

This reminds me a lot of when my wife and I bought our house at the end of 2008, it was a foreclosure too.

Perfect timing! How was the foreclosure purchase process for you, Bowflex? If it wasn't painful I may look into it.

Maybe it's a SK thing? I have no idea! A friend of mine dated a guy who lived in Saskatoon (well had a house) but worked on the "rigs" and she always called him a rigger!

Congrats on the house trailmix!

I never got into the show LOST I tried to watch an episode and well it just didn't happen...... Not my cup of tea.

maybe a Sask thing as I have always heard them called Riggers.

I have a strong dislike for spoilers, previews etc too.... I hate the trailers in the movie theaters because 1 .. you can't get away from it and 2.. they are so long they basically give away the whole movie

I could sit for hours and JUST watch the movie trailers, lol

So I have a bunch of stuff to do - for one thing this house has no appliances so we need to buy a fridge, stove, washer and dryer. That alone is a big feat lol - plus I need to call the movers and start getting things hooked up - cable, electricity, gas - but I have done none of this. I have been watching tv online

not sure if it works well in canada--but check out slickdeals.net Hot Forums! people post good finds on everything!! And if its a crappy find, people say so!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
