Sounds like you got a great house, Huggles! The sellers would be crazy not to work with you. When's the closing date?

February 25th! Or sooner if we can get everything done in time. I'm thinking even February 25th is pushing it...

Morning, everyone!!!

I think my visa/passport package is in Mississaugua! I hope that means that it'll be delivered soon! That'd be a hoot!

:D

Was there coffee this morning? Did I miss it?

Is it my turn to get it? Lemme know...

Yay!! :luv:

So I promised myself I would stay home today and work on my resume and look at job postings. I've had employment authorization since October and I haven't applied for a single job. Unemployed life has been great, but Its time to think about maybe moving forward... Sad.

I did, kind of, at first. Kept wondering what to do with myself. I actually missed going. But then I found all kinds of things to do. Now I wonder how I was able to do all that and work too!

Exactly!! I feel the same way. The first month or so after the wedding I was going crazy, not knowing what to do with myself. Now I have so much going on I'm having a hard time picturing how a job is actually going to fit into my life. I guess we can't be superwomen, gotta eliminate some things. Someone is going to have to learn how to do dishes and laundry :P

Woot!!

Yay!!! :D

It's pretty nerve-wracking, isn't it? lol

Oh yeah, LOL. We gave 60 days notice so we can include the letter in my domicile evidence. Our landlord is super sweet, though, and has already replied thanking us for the advanced notice.

It’s amazing how easy you get back into a working schedule after taking time off. My weekends are so sacred now! But, we are on a strict weekend schedule to make sure we have enough time to get all of our chores done. We do laundry together Saturday at the Laundromat (the joys of an apartment) and then we usually get any groceries we need right after. I clean the apartment either Saturday morning or Sunday evening….My hubby cooks dinner pretty much every night since I get home later than him…so I’m lucky there!

I just need to figure out how to fit the gym into my schedule and I’d be set. When I wasn’t working I was going in the morning and then again in the evening with my husband. I’m thinking about waking up at 6 a.m. once or twice a week and going before work… but I can’t seem to find the motivation…I hope this is the week!

Good luck on the job search!

You guys heard about the massive Toyota recall due to accelerator problem? Geezus, here's the 911 phone call that sparked the overdue recall:

In the August incident near San Diego, the fiery crash of a 2009 Lexus ES 350 killed California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Saylor, 45, and three members of his family on State Route 125 in Santee. The runaway car was traveling at more than 120 mph when it hit a sport utility vehicle, launched off an embankment, rolled several times and burst into flames. One of the family members called police about a minute before the crash to report the vehicle had no brakes and the accelerator was stuck. The call ended with someone telling people in the car to hold on and pray, followed by a woman's scream.

Good thing we bought a Honda instead a Toyota last year!

I have never understood why they release 911 calls.

I wonder if it's public property?

Thanks Sapphire! Its nice that you and your husband are able to work together and make time for everything. Hopefully we can learn to develop a similar system!

I wonder if it's public property?

It actually is considered public property. I'm not really sure why, but it is. I guess its similar to police records... When the service is paid for by taxpayer dollars, individuals feel like they have a right to access the information. But 911 tapes really don't help anyone, do they? Aside from maybe law enforcement officials investigating a case. At any rate, I think its pretty strange myself.

Yeah - maybe the real question is, why do people post them on youtube and why do they play them on the news?
