I have red mittens too! :D They make me feel special and extra Canadian. I wear them everywhere then the weather permits.

This reminds me of the time I saw a man wearing a Canada hat in Disneyworld. I went up to him and asked him where in Canada he was from. Turns out he wasn't Canadian at all and just liked the hat

Did you call him a wanna-be?

I did. :)

I was wearing it at the golf club last year and some man started singing O' Canada to me. I just looked at him puzzled because I didn't know why he was singing that. He said "You're wearing a Canada shirt." How embarrassing.

There was a woman working at a restaurant in Tampa yesterday with a Canada pin. I kept trying to catch her eye so I could ask her about it. LOL

so I got an email from my dad today and he said that it was more important to spend time with his daughter and her husband then go to a wedding... :)

I was hoping he would say that...

so we are probably going for 2 weeks... right now the cheapest flight I can find is about $450 for the both of us.. I am hoping that I might be able to get it cheaper then that though..

I also looked into renting a car for the 2 weeks we would be there but that could cost around 500 bucks :o with my dad being home though there would be 2 vehicles plus his motorcycle at home so if the hubster and I wanted to go somewhere I am sure we could borrow a vehicle..

we could drive up but then that is less time we could spend with my family..

I think this is one of the best comments on an article that I have seen, this is in relation to an article in the Calgary Herald this morning, stating that the University of Calgary is pondering raising some tuition by 47%

Professional Opinion

January 28, 2010 - 9:42

As a professional who obtained a degree from the most highly regarded University in Canada AND graduated at the very top of my class, I have to say that we absolutely DO need to increase tuition, by grossly more than 47%. How on earth are we going to maintain the echelons of the educated elite if we make education available to the unwashed masses? There is nothing more important than ensuring a level of proletariet worker to maintain the day to day functioning of our manufacturing centers, paving works, etc. I welcome the day we recind to familial trades, where the doctors son becomes a doctor, the doctor's daughter marries a doctor, and the maid's urchins return to the street to beg.

I use several variants, including the wonderful text only kind.

I have a old pentium 75, with 64Mg of ram, and 200Mg HD sitting under my desk hosting a online voice chat application. It's been running for 200ish days, since the last time the power went out. I never need to reboot the thing "just because" and it's pounded by my friends all day (multiple timezone friends). It's running GenToo.

I use Knoppix or Ubuntu at home for my non-gaming machines. It's just easier to get setup. Tho my bil wants me to try another variant that looks pretty spiffy.

Lies, the power went out Monday morning for 3 hours remember?

I went to the DMV and got my driver's license changed over today. My picture is horrible, and I got to keep my ON license, it just has a hole in it.

Then I went to Brimmer and got my application in to get my car changed over. The lady thought I had to pay sales tax again, until I complained and she called someone and hooray, I don't!
